BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or putting in an additional lock to circumvent the security system.

The Ghost is unique to other immobilisers as it doesn't use key fobs or LED indicators. Instead it uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a BMW or used its stop-start feature you may have noticed the engine continues to run for about 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuing to monitor your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and when this is found it will keep running. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that can stop this by stopping the vehicle whenever you hit the button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, which is a next-generation device, doesn't require you to cut OEM wires or add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with an unique PIN code which is accessed by buttons in your car. This allows you to enter a specific key push sequence that isn't in the normal menus for media, such as volume up/down or cruise control, source or air conditioning on and stops your car from starting until it is entered. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 numbers which makes it extremely difficult for thieves to figure out or break.

We can also include the ability to use a service/valet feature. This mode is activated when your vehicle is being maintained so that the Ghost is away from the garage. This can be done by pressing the service button on your infotainment device 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and then when you return the Ghost will automatically re-arm.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for top-of-the-line vehicles. It's totally undetectable and doesn't require cutting any wiring from the factory and will disable your car's engine if an incorrect pin code is entered. Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a market-leading immobiliser designed to stop your vehicle from being stolen by key cloning and hacking. It uses the factory buttons of your vehicle to create a unique sequence of pushes that only you know. It is similar to pin code security for your mobile phone. Its discreet and incredibly effective and stopping even the most zealous thieves from ever trying!

If you are parked at home or in a meeting and greet situation when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This lets you start the vehicle with your keys, but stops the engine from starting until the correct code has been entered. This is ideal for those who have to hand their cars to valet services or other trusted friends & family members. This lets you bring your vehicle to the garage for servicing, etc. without worrying about it being tampered with by a mechanic while you are waiting.

If the service/valet mode has been activated and enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive after it has been started. This stops anyone else from attempting to drive the vehicle while you are away. After you return, the car will revert to normal and stop it from being damaged or stolen.

The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you need are the correct keys, since the device doesn't use the original remotes, but can be used in conjunction with them. We can also supply an optional Bluetooth tag which can be used to disarm the Ghost via an App on your smartphone (IOS and Android) or in case you don't have an iPhone or aren't happy using it, simply press the emergency card one time. Anti-Hijack

With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated, the security technology has to improve, which is why Ghost has created this subtle and unobtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it away. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to generate an individual push-sequence that has to be entered before the engine can start.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated the attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. When the system determines that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it is unable to locate the correct code, it will also stall the engine (where possible). The Anti-Hijack feature can be removed by entering your push sequence, or by enabling service mode, which allows your vehicle to temporarily start and drive without having to enter your PIN.

If you have an GPS device that is connected to your BMW it could be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system inside your car even when the vehicle is parked and unsupervised. If you have a smart-phone you can also hook it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

It is completely discreet and will not affect your vehicle's functionality. It does not require any programming expertise to install or use. It is completely undetectable to the tools used by thieves to detect the device and is immune to key cloning because it connects to the vehicle's CAN data network.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go functions. This is helpful if you are other than home and valet or mechanic need to start your vehicle. The system lets you start the vehicle by selecting drive and then quit the service mode without having to use your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle on the map in real-time using your smartphone.

The Ghost can be installed under the dashboard, or in the centre console. It is completely hidden and secure, and does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personal PIN code is embedded into it. The pin code must be entered prior to the engine starting. This prevents thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU in order to disable this system.

If the vehicle is being stolen the Ghost will go into service mode and disable all functions unless you have the PIN number or use the mobile application to disarm it. This is a feature that was created to safeguard your vehicle from high-tech thieves who are now utilising relay boxes to steal your car. This will stop thieves from using their mobile phones to turn on your sat-nav or mp3 players to locate your vehicle!

Ghost can also stop "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most popular method of stealing a vehicle with a keyfob which has been cloned, or stolen through hacking. Ghost allows you to stop this by installing a security device to prevent theft in your vehicle, called Secure-A-Key. The device is installed inside the key fob of your vehicle and disconnects its battery after a couple of inactive minutes. This can be done using the most modern PKE keys.
