WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give you boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrader mod by 3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside every upgrade.

The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of armor or weapons. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than buying new gear from other sources. For example, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item Level Upgrade from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase weapon, armor, tool and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from item upgrade upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon or tool with the help of button, which will display an image of the item at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item level upgrade slot and the current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than gloves or bracers for example. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests used. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. Similarly, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading equipment in WoW players have a few choices. Flightstones are a currency that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an important part of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System, which was introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that the crests can only be purchased for equipment that is of a certain rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. Another significant modification is that crests have one usage and it's crucial to use them wisely. It's best to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all the slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
