The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping using app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also automatically replenishes and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ iRobot from iRobot.

The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most significant advancement is an obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to recognize objects like charging cords, shoes, and the dreaded pet waste the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It's the first robot to provide you with pictures of the objects that it encounters, so you can tell the robot to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt effortlessly and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't clean in areas you don’t want. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop with your voice.

Its design is superior to the rest, with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robotic than a loud, obnoxious one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System self-empties which is great to reduce the time spent cleaning.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one location rather than sending it scattering across the floor. It even was able to catch small gravel and sand that other robots can't. It did all this without getting caught in our pet's hair.

While it's not quite as sophisticated as the $1,217 iRobot Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum and can't clean stairs, the j7+ is still an excellent choice for those who require both mopping and a vacuum in their home. It's not expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner applications. It can take some time to download updates and it is sometimes difficult to determine if they are functioning until you actually witness them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best robot vacuum deals option is probably a hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but usually lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock has some of our most loved robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. This is the least expensive model of their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more expensive features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still a great choice for those who are willing to make a few compromises to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is exceptionally gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great choice for homes that have a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a area where many robot vacuums that are less expensive do not excel in. The navigation technology in the Q5+ is superb as well, with only a few missed corners and along walls.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled with a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. The app lets you begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map or re-label rooms.

If you select the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place it is done with relative ease. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're setting up schedules or altering settings. This feature isn't required for the majority of people, but it can help you to keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a clever well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are some of the best Roborock vacuum on the market however, it's also expensive.

The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and the dimensions are quite small. The main reason to buy the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require you to perform this.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that does an excellent job of picking up debris on bare floors, and it's not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially when it comes navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also not able to climb stairs as well as other models and isn't equipped with a dock to create a cleaning area for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who want an automated vacuum that can do everything.

If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are many other options available. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive, but offers many more features, like stairs and a fully-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile ones.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, an Anker company has a proven track record of making robot vacuums robot that strike a good balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function for a low cost. It's easy to set it up, just connect one of the side brushes, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed near an outlet and have plenty of room to move.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact, which means it will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is less ostentatious compared to some rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes) Recharge and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The way that the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses a built-in map to create an image of immovable objects it encounters, remembering what it's already cleaned and what it isn't able to access. It will return to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.

The elegant G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It is faster to charge, has the same battery life and performs better on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be empty as often and comes with the boundary strips to keep it away from certain areas. The G30 on the other hand, is more affordable and is much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials like cereal.
