World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to boost the gear score of an item to 700, and then add an additional perk. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For instance the perfect roll breakpoint armor is used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't change much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats such as the chance to crit, attack damage, PvE and PvP damage. They also have an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Many weapons also come with a fixed bonus which is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.

The cost of upgrading a weapon depends on its rarity as well as its current level. For instance, a +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a gun will increase until it requires more Smithing Stones. At that point it will reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also alter the stats of their base. While this is generally a good thing however, it could have negative consequences as well. For items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them can make them unusable unless you get a fortunate roll.

The ability to upgrade armor items to increase their stats. For example, if you upgrade chests or helms, this will increase its base defense while gloves and belts improve their required strength and dexterity. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may change its roll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats that it will get when upgraded in addition to their respective values. This means that a change from a sword that has 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. However the 3% does not mean that it will strike for 3 fewer times, since it is an absolute statistic.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button, which is accompanied by arrows that circle in the item menu. This will roll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer massive increases in resistance to curses, poisons fire, magic, and other. This can make it easier to navigate difficult terrains. The more defense your character has, the more value you get from each point of health, so it's important to upgrade your armor as often as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four in total, and each requires you to complete a specific side quest involving the Stable Trotters musical troupe. Once you've completed the primary side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain and then you can contact any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will differ. You'll require anything between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade your first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade the next one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep up with a good-sized group of adversaries in most cold climates and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded to +20 defense, giving you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a handful of friends.

Be aware that armor can't be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll have to work on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. It's also worth saving your armor upgrades to use for armor you'll be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield or the helmet you wear to fight the final boss and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to beat the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. However, it's beneficial to have some upgrades for the armor on your chest and helmets to let you get around a few monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the player, give a temporary effect for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with specific effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded, increasing the effectiveness of their effects. You can also increase the effects of certain potions by adding redstone dust and glowstone dust.

Upgrades to potion require a certain amount of XP. This can be obtained by making them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. The upgrade price varies depending on the type of potion and the item upgrader kit's rarity as well as Mark Level.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This opens an GUI where you can select the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will yield when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they earn will be added to your current XP level.

When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade in the event that you use it again or break the bottle within which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to change the name of the potion.

There were some changes to the mechanics of potion in version 1.7.2. Splash potions for instance, now have a duration that is 0:08 instead of 22.5 seconds displayed on the hover display for the item. The table for potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. It can be used in both Survival and Bedrock. Contrary to Java Edition, Bedrock edition potions can't be used in cauldrons. The same is true for using a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.

Finally, there are simmering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can be added to lingering potions to extend their effect. The table of potion ingredients has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added for instance, the potion of leaping and decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is an ornamental item upgrader that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It can also refer to an ornament or object that has a purpose but isn't essential, like a thimble. In some cultures a trinket can be used to express friendship or affection between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons, and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. Upgrades can be made by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be swapped out at will without losing their status.

Upgrade vendors are located at the capitals of every zone, and sometimes in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens or fragments of trinkets that are rare.

Upgrades are a cheaper alternative to purchasing a new trinket. You can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the old trinket, but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded when the old ones are no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.

In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. This means that the best-in slot items for each class are first upgraded before their secondary gear and other pieces of equipment that won't be replacing anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players should also consider their class's preferred statistics. If Haste and Crit are two of the most important stats to tank players then they should consider upgrading their helm, chest and shoulders.

After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket comes with an additional bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, will destroy the trinket unless it is salvaged with the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
