BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost is different from other immobilisers in that it does not use key fobs or LED indicators. It relies on the buttons of your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarming sequence that you can only remember.

Stop & Start

If you've previously driven a BMW or used its stop-start feature, you may have noticed the engine continues to run for about 30 seconds after you have released the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to monitor the vehicle for a signal that comes from the ignition key. If it detects this, the vehicle will continue to run. Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, does not require cutting OEM wires or add key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with an unique PIN code that can be accessible through buttons on your car. This allows you to enter key sequences that are not accessible through the standard menus for media. For instance the volume up/down button, or source cruise control, air conditioning, etc. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 digits and is therefore difficult for thieves to guess or break.

Service / Valet Mode

Anti-Hijack

Ghost developed this discreet device that is unobtrusive and helps in battling the ever-increasing sophistication of high-tech thieves. It is designed to prevent thieves from using keys or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to create a unique push-sequence that must be entered before the engine can start.

This will activate the anti-hijack feature and once active any attempt to start the engine will be blocked. The system will honk the horn, flash the indicators and stop the vehicle if the code is not found. The Anti-Hijack feature can be disabled by entering your push sequence, or by entering service mode which allows your vehicle to temporarily start and drive without needing to enter your PIN.

If you own an GPS device that is connected to your BMW it is possible to use it to turn off the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system inside your car even when the vehicle is parked and not being watched. If you own a smart-phone, you can also link it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go functions. This is helpful when you are other than home and valet or mechanic needs to start your vehicle. The system lets you start the vehicle by selecting drive, then leave the service mode without the need to use your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle's location in real-time on a map using your smartphone, ideal for tracking your car whilst moving around.

The ghost immobiliser install can be fitted under the dashboard or within the centre console, it is completely concealed and tamperproof and does not require additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique PIN code is inserted into it. The pin code must be entered prior to the engine's start. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.

If the vehicle is stolen, the Ghost will enter a service mode that disables all functions unless the PIN code is entered, or you can make use of the mobile app to dearm it.
