Once the system detects that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, in case it is not able to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where it is). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can disable the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to start temporarily without having to enter the PIN.

If you own a GPS device linked up to your BMW it could be used to turn off the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system in your car when the vehicle is parked and not being watched.
