Style

At its 2022 Year in Infrastructure (YII) event, Bentley Systems introduced a series of products that leverage digital twins and cloud data to enable quicker, more precise design and project delivery.

For instance, Bentley's sophisticated additive manufacturing (AM) system is capable of turning 3D models in CAD into actual components. The technology was used to make everything from on the job aid tools for Bentley's workers in manufacturing to the historically accurate tools to restore its woodshop's iconic look and a lightweight sanding blocks that were needed to make Bentley cars that were driven in record-breaking time at the Pikes Peak Challenge.

The ProjectWise platform was enhanced with a number of new features such as the ability to reuse digital components; an enhanced capability for civil design review and the capability to conduct a Drive Simulation to test the ability to drive a specific design; and the addition of multiple project file formats to one workspace to facilitate collaborative review of design. Bentley also unveiled the new Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, a suite of integrated solutions that span infrastructure project lifecycles.

The new solutions include the Dam Monitoring Solution that provides unified data access. It also includes an iTwin Bridge Monitoring Solution that makes use of drone video, iTwin Capture and IoT sensors to provide real-time inspections on bridges. Bentley has also integrated its iTwin Platform with the Embodied Carbon in Construction Calculator to help users meet the sustainability standards.
