How a Jaguar Smart Key Works

Jaguar smart key is a great way to lock and unlock your vehicle from an extended distance. However, like all electronics it requires electricity which is provided by a battery.

Your car could show an increase in the range of signals if your Smart Key battery begins to go out of service. The center of messages can show an alert "SMART-KEY BATTERY FAILS".

Keyless Entry

With this feature, you will be able to access your Jaguar without having to dig through your purse or pockets. The system uses proximity sensors to detect the Jaguar Smart Key fob, which will trigger your XE's automatic opening. When you approach the vehicle, just grab any door handle, and it will open and arm itself automatically. You can lock your vehicle by pressing a button on the handle of the door, or the key fob after you leave the vehicle.

This is ideal for carrying groceries, baggage or sporting equipment around Gilbert without having to reach for your wallet or purse. When you're ready to close your trunk, simply hold the Activity Key up against it. The danger lights will light up to show that it's successfully connected.

Contrary to other smart keys the Jaguar Smart Key's battery does not require any replacement. However, you might notice that the range of your key fob begins to diminish, and it will not respond to commands immediately. If this happens, you should replace the battery as soon as possible.

Panic Alarm

If your car's alarm sounds at the top of its volume, you can swiftly stop it by using your Jaguar Smart Key. This feature, also called the panic button, may appear straightforward however it can be useful in certain circumstances.

To activate the panic mode of your vehicle you need to press the button on your Smart Key with a headlamp symbol three times in three seconds. If the battery in your Smart Key fob is low you will hear a sound warning and see "SMART KEY Battery Low" that appears in the middle of the display. If you're required to replace the battery, take off the chrome cover on the key fob, then slide out the CR2032 battery and replace it with a fresh one facing upwards.

Security Enhanced

Jaguar's keyless entry feature is available on a range of models, which eliminates the need to play with your keys as you prepare to leave for your Irvine commute. The XE employs a proximity sensor that will identify your key fob when you approach the vehicle. It will open and deactivate the security system when you grab the handle. This feature is especially helpful for drivers who tend to lose their keys while in the car or have to carry multiple bags, keys and kids in the morning before driving off to work.

You can also secure jaguar replacement key fob with the touchscreen. Press the lock icon once to lock your car, and activate the alarm. Press it two times to double-lock your vehicle. This will ensure that the vehicle isn't unlocked or opened from inside even if someone smashes a window to gain access.

InControl Remote's Guardian Mode can be used to further increase the security of your Jaguar. This feature will send a notice to your smartphone if it detects any suspicious movement of your vehicle. A notification will be directly sent to your smartphone if the vehicle has been tampered with. This allows you to alert the police immediately. This feature can protect your Jaguar from theft, and it's available on most E-PACE I-PACE, F-PACE, and E-PACE vehicles.

Convenience

A Jaguar smart key can secure your car without you to touch the knob, allowing you to leave your keys in a bag or pocket. It also allows remote start of your car, allowing you to leave for your Rumson or Colts Neck commute with your car already cool or warm.

This feature is especially useful for outdoor enthusiasts and those who love sports who don't want risk putting their keys in their car when they're hiking or biking. Your smart key can be used to alter your car's temperature as well as seat settings. This lets you personalize your Jaguar before you even get inside.

Although Jaguar's smart key is more secure than a traditional key fob however, you must be aware when using it in public areas like gas stations or restaurants. They transmit a low-frequency signal that could be detected by others and used to unlock or even start the vehicle.

This can be avoided by using the remote-start system when you know that you are in a secure area and no person else will be able to see your smart key. You can also activate the alarm from a distance, which will sound a loud enough to scare away potential thieves. You can also add the Activity Key to your smart key to avoid having to bring a key fob while you're out hiking or mountain biking.
