iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

In contrast to some robot vacuums this one isn't afraid of taking on the stairs. Like any mop & vacuum in one or vacuum, it is susceptible to getting blocked by particles, like tennis shoes, play thread, jewelry or other loose objects.

You can use the iRobot Home app to label rooms and establish zones that are not allowed to enter. It also lets you track the progress of your mops and their the status of its battery.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo J7+ is a part of the mop and robotic vacuum mop combo Robot line-up, combining the robotic cleaner's smart mapping capabilities and its ability to tackle spills. It is equipped with the same onboard acoustic sensors and iAdapt 2.0 navigation as other Roomba options and maps your home 7 times faster than previous models. It also lets you set Keep Out Zones (for rooms that the robot is not allowed to enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms that it should keep clean).

The most notable feature of the j7 is its robotic arm which keeps the mop pad locked away when not in use and lowers it to deal with carpets or hard flooring. The idea is to not spray water on the rug and the Combo J7+ has done a good job of it in my testing. The robot backed off when it encountered a rug and didn't try to cross it, even although I moved the rug several times.

The arm comes with a 240mL tank which can be easily removed and refilled. This makes it much easier to use than the mop pads on many other 2-in-1 robotic arms. It utilizes iRobot PrevisionVision obstacle-avoidance technology that is more advanced than other systems similar to it.

iRobot Combo i5

The price is higher than the previous Roomba Combo j7+, however, it comes with more features.

Its patented Mopping Drive System applies a pressure to the floor, allowing a deeper clean. It also removes tough staining. It also works under furniture and in tight spaces to provide better cleaning. The Combo j5+ is also compatible with the iRobot Clean Base for automatic dirt removal.

Smart Mapping allows it to navigate your home seven times faster than before5 while identifying rooms with 90% accuracy6. It can also create a map of your entire house, meaning you can clean your entire home in just one step. You can plan cleaning schedules in your home and remotely control your robot with the iRobot App.

iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 has been upgraded from the original Roomba i3. It still comes with a HEPA-filter to eliminate allergens and has the same excellent external dust compartment, but it now supports smart vacuum mapping. You can now create no-go zones to stop the vacuum from vacuuming these areas repeatedly. The i3 Plus has a lot of other great features, like its advanced cleaning system and 10x power-lifting vacuum. It also has a three-stage cleaning process. It comes with a textured surface to keep pet hair, dust and fingerprints off.

It is able to perform well on unfinished floors and cleans the majority of debris however, it was a bit difficult with pet hair on low pile carpets. It does an excellent job with high pile carpets though and is quieter than its competitors. The i3 costs a little more than the Roborock S4 Max, but it comes with a self-emptying mechanism that cleans the mop pads, and then refills the water reservoir.

You can create cleaning schedules with the i3 App. You can also control your robot with your voice assistant to start or stop cleaning. It can also track your home's unique layout and give you a personalized cleaning routine and scheduling. It uses advanced mapping sensors to guide you through hardwood and carpet flooring, and also learns how you clean to improve performance.

iRobot Combo i2

The Combo i2 robot vacuum and mop is the most recent product from iRobot. It incorporates iRobot's intelligent floor cleaning technology to make it a perfect choice for homes with hard flooring as well as rugs or carpets. It can be controlled via a voice command using Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant-enabled devices. It can be programmed to begin and stop at certain time intervals.

iRobot Combo i4

This iRobot robot vacuum and mop is ideal for those who want a clean house without having to lift a finger. It is compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can use voice commands to control it. It also features smart mapping technology, so you can create a schedule for the robot to follow.

It comes with a slim docking station that doesn't take up any space. It also has an empty dirt compartment. However it's impossible to look inside the compartment as it's made of transparent plastic. The i4 is also lacking features like the AI-powered obstacle-avoidance and keep-out zones that are found on the j7 and j7+.

It does, however, come with a strong vacuum system and rubber brushes that do not get tangled with pet hair. It's also a good choice for homes with high-pile carpet because it can handle the extra dirt and debris better than less powerful vacuums. The i4 is also less demanding in terms of maintenance requirements, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance and also has a longer time of operation in its least powerful suction mode than the i7.
