What You Need to Know About Your Nissan Key Fob

Smart Keys

The key fob that was included with the key fob that came with your Nissan is an important element of the car's sophisticated keyless entry system. It communicates with the vehicle's electronic system to open doors or start the engine, and has a practical design that is easy to keep on hand. Contrary to earlier models of key fobs which required you place the key in the ignition slot to gain access to the onboard systems in your vehicle, smart keys work wirelessly. Intelligent Key Fob

With the Nissan Intelligent Key Fob, you can open the doors of your car and start its engine with a click of an button. It also allows you to activate presets to suit your preferences. For example you can adjust the seat and mirrors to maximize comfort. You can even control the music using your smartphone, meaning you'll never have to leave your car.

Intelligent Key Fobs are equipped with an antenna built-in that sends the signal to your car when you touch a button or move towards it. Once your vehicle receives this signal it activates the system, unlocking doors or locking them, starting the engine, and then opening the trunk. If you'd like to test the fob, stand at a distance away from your vehicle and press the buttons. If the lights flash or the horn sound, you know that you successfully programmed your Intelligent Key Fob.

Batteries are required for the operation of Intelligent Key Fobs. Our Parts Department will help you quickly and efficiently replace it if the battery runs out of batteries. To do this, first take the key hidden in your key fob. Then, access the battery compartment. Remove the battery that was in it, then insert a fresh one in its place. Make sure that the positive side of the new battery faces in the same direction as it did in the previous one. Finally, close the battery compartment and return the hidden key to its concealed location within the case.

Remote Start

Nissan remote start is a feature that permits drivers to heat up or cool their vehicle from outside of the vehicle, provided they are within operating range. The ignition in the car is activated when the driver pushes a button on their key fob or smartphone application. The remote start system can also activate climate control, allowing the driver to choose their preferred temperature. Certain systems come with two-way communication that allow the driver to be aware of what is happening inside their vehicle.

Lockout Protection

Each device is singularly identified and labeled with the date and time of the application, the name of the authorized individual and the reason behind the lockout/tag-out (repair maintenance, repair, etc.).
