BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses CAN data bus for communication with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or putting in an additional lock to circumvent the security system.

The Ghost is unique to other immobilisers because it does not use key fobs or LED indicators. It uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you access to a unique disarming sequence that you only know.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a BMW or utilized its stop-start feature, you may have noticed the engine continues to run for 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to monitor the vehicle for signals that comes from the ignition key. When it detects this, the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that stops this by stopping the vehicle whenever you press a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser is an innovative next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding aftermarket alarm and key fobs. It is connected to your BMW's CAN data network and programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that is accessible through buttons in your car. This lets you enter the key push sequence that isn't found present in the standard menus for media, like volume up/down or cruise control, source or air conditioning on and stops your car from starting unless the sequence is entered. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it difficult for thieves to guess.

In addition to this we can also add a service / valet mode to the system, this is activated when your vehicle is in for servicing to ensure that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. You can activate this mode by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment system (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Service / Valet Mode

The Ghost is the most effective immobiliser on the market. It protects your vehicle from being stolen through key cloning or hacking. It works by utilising the factory buttons of your vehicle to create an unique sequence of pushes that only you know, much like pin code security on your mobile phone. It's subtle and extremely effective, not to mention stopping even the most zealous thieves from ever trying!

When parked at your home or in a meeting and greet when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This lets you start the vehicle using your keys, but it stops the engine from restarting until the correct code is entered. This is great for customers who have to hand over their cars to valet companies or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you get the car into the garage for maintenance or repairs without having to worry about it being tampered with or stolen by a mechanic whilst you are waiting.

When the service or valet mode is enabled, it will block your BMW from being able to drive once started, this prevents anyone from attempting to test drive while you are away. Once you return, the vehicle will revert to normal and will not be altered or stolen.

We can fit the Ghost to any BMW all you require is the right keys as the device does not use the original remotes, and can be used in conjunction with them. We can also provide an optional Bluetooth tag which can be used to deactivate the Ghost by using an app for your smartphone (IOS & Android) or if you don't have a phone or aren't comfortable with it, just press the emergency card once. This is an extra cost and requires a separate Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated the security technology has to change, that's why Ghost has developed this discreet and discreet immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from using a key or replacing the ECU to start your car and drive it off. ghost 11 immobiliser connects to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to create an unique push-sequence which must be entered before your engine can start.

If the anti-hijacking mode has been activated the attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. The system will hone the horn, flash the indicators and stall the vehicle in the event that the code cannot be found. By entering your push sequence or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without the need to enter the PIN.

If you have a GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can use it to disable the Anti-Hijack function so that you can continue to use your navigation system while the vehicle is stationary. You can also use your smartphone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

The product is certified by Tassa and is recognized by the majority of insurance companies. It reduces the chance of your pride and Joy being stolen. It is completely discreet and won't interfere with the functionality of your vehicle. It doesn't require any programming expertise to install or use. Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile app to enable remote control of keyless start and go capabilities. This is helpful when you need to be somewhere other than home and valet or mechanic need to start your vehicle. The system allows you to turn your vehicle on, select drive and quit service mode without needing keys. You can also track your vehicle's location on an interactive map on your smartphone.

The Ghost can be installed in the dashboard area, or in the center console. It is completely concealed and secure, and does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicles CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personalised PIN code is programmed into it. The pin code must be selected prior to the engine's start. This stops thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.

If the vehicle is being taken away, the Ghost will enter service mode and stop all functions unless you have the PIN code or the mobile application to disarm it. This is a feature that was designed to protect your vehicle from high-tech thieves who are now utilising relay boxes to steal your car. It also stops thieves from using their mobile phone to turn on your sat-nav or MP3 player to locate your car!

Ghost also stops "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most typical way that a vehicle is being taken away with a key-fob that was copied or stolen by hacking. Ghost lets you stop this theft by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is inserted into the key fob of your vehicle and then disconnects the battery after a few inactive minutes. This is possible with the majority of modern PKE keys.
