BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from adding keys or replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a valid PIN code to start the engine.

Stop & Start

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, does not require you to cut OEM wires or install keys or alarms that are made by an aftermarket company. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with a unique PIN code that is accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter the key push sequence that is not available in the usual media menus, such as volume up/down or cruise control, source or aircon on and stops your car from starting unless the sequence is entered. The PIN could be between 4 and 20 digits and is therefore difficult for thieves to figure out or crack.

We can also include a service/valet mode. This is activated while your vehicle is being maintained so that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. You can do this by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment system (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Service / Valet Mode

Once the service / valet mode is activated, it will block your BMW from being able to drive when it is first started. This stops anyone from attempting to test drive it whilst you are away. After you return, the car will revert to normal and will not be damaged or stolen.

Anti-Hijack

It is designed to prevent thieves from acquiring a new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your vehicle and then drive it away. Ghost connects to your CAN network and utilizes buttons on your vehicle to create an unique push-sequence which must be entered before your engine can begin.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. The system will sharpen the horn, flash the indicators and stall the vehicle if the code is not found. By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can deactivate the Anti-Hijack feature. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without the need to enter PIN.

If you have an GPS device that is connected to your BMW and you want to make use of it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to use your navigation system while the vehicle is in a parking spot. If you own a smart-phone, you can also connect it to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack feature and other functions.

You can also view your vehicle in real-time on a map on your smartphone, which is ideal to track your car while on the move.

The Ghost can be positioned under the dashboard or in the centre console, it is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require extra wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personal pin code is programmed in it. The pin code must be entered prior to the engine starting. This stops thieves from gaining access to the system by using the cloned or replaced ECU.

If the vehicle is stolen the Ghost will enter service mode and stop all functions unless you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disable it.
