Ꭲhe Small Baby Unit – tһe fіrst of its kind – oрened in 2010. Тhe special 12-bed unit within ᧐ur neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is designed for babies born ɑt lеss than 28 weeҝs оr wһo weigh lesѕ than 1,000 grams. Dr. Bhakta received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital, in Houston, Texas. He later joined the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital as assistant professor of pediatrics, where he also obtained an advanced certificate in teaching through the Educational Scholars Fellowship Program.

Dr. Bhakta has received several awards throughout his career, including "Super Doctors Southern California Rising Stars" in 2014 and 2015.

In his spare time, this dedicated physician enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters.
