Roborock's S7 MaxV is simple to use, thanks to only one power button that can also be used as a general 'Clean' command and [Redirect-302] a 'Spot Clean' function that lets you select a specific area to clean. Its smart home integration feature is also robust. It can be connected to MaxV to other devices, such as lights and thermostats using IFTTT.

Roborock's S7 MaxV Ultra is a more expensive model than the S7 but with a larger dock that can accommodate mopping equipment and dustbin. The Ultra model also comes with an option for remote viewing, which allows you to monitor the robot remotely. You'll need to set up an appropriate pattern within the MaxV Ultra application to enable remote view. This is a little more complicated than setting up Ecovacs' rival robot the X1 Omni. This feature is perfect for those who have an extensive home or do not want the burden of emptying the robot's trash bin. It's important to remember that the Ultra model isn't equipped with a dock that self-empty, unlike the S7 or S7 Plus.

Eufy X8 Pro

The X8 Pro is a 2-for-1 robot vacuum and mop that comes with powerful suction and industry-leading navigation. It uses iPath laser scanning to map out the space and avoid obstacles, while also detecting carpet thickness and identifying high-traffic areas. A large 2.5-liter bin is sealed for hands-free use.

Vacuum and mop both have different cleaning modes. They can be used in conjunction or independently. The mop works by dragging the dampened pad across the floor while the vacuum sucks up dirt and pet hair. This method is good for cleaning the house, but it won't take off tough stains or sticky dirt.

In our tests, the X8 Pro cleaned my floors quickly and thoroughly. It managed to navigate complex furniture arrangements and a wide variety of flooring types, including textured hardwoods and thick carpets. It has a variety of cleaning brushes but also a spinning brush that is great to remove pet fur. It has a variety of cleaning options to customize your cleaning for specific areas. This includes a specific mode that lets you reach difficult-to-access areas, such as under the mattress and in the corners of the room.

The X8 Pro is designed to stay clear of stairs, but it is easily confused by steep slopes or other obstacles. This is especially true if they are placed near the edge of a stairway. Make sure that any object is at least 1.5 feet (5cm) away from the edge of a staircase to prevent the X8 Pro from climbing over and up it.

At $429, it's a step above low-end competitors such as the Shark Ion R85 and offers the same functionality as top-rated models like the Roomba iRobot and the Neato Botvac D7.

The D4's design is similar to that of the D6 with the exception of the absence of a shiny black plastic cladding. The D4's upper surfaces are given a matte finish, which is less likely to attract dust or other particles. A raised disc emblazoned with "neato" is atop the robot's round surface and conceals the laser which is responsible for its navigation.

Like all Neato vacs as well, the D4 begins its cleaning routine by navigating your home to map out its design. Although it appears to be somewhat random, there's actually a method to this craziness as it whirls around walls and corners using the combination of laser sensing and bumping.

The app will display the floorplan of your home and highlight all the areas the D4 has explored. It will also highlight any issues the robot encountered like a dead battery or the need to dock. You can limit the D4's access in certain areas by using the application to draw virtual "No-Go Lines" around furniture and objects that it is advised to stay clear of.

Like all modern robotic vacuums the D4 Connected is compatible with voice assistants and can be operated using simple commands. It can be used with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Watch integrations as well as Neato's own voice-control capabilities. You can also customize the cleaning schedule and manage robot features using the application.

The D4 allows you to create a daily cleaning schedule or a weekly one, switch between Eco and Turbo modes, and allow gentle navigation. It will even return to its base to recharge at the end of its run, though it will have wait until the batteries are fully charged before this can take place.
