BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or installing new locks to bypass the security system.

The Ghost is unlike other immobilisers because it does not use key-fobs or LED indicators. Instead, it makes use of the buttons in your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you have previously driven a brand new BMW or used the stop start feature, you may have noticed that once stopped the engine continues to continue to run for around 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to check the vehicle for signals emanating from the ignition key. If it detects this, the vehicle will continue to operate. Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a unique next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or adding an aftermarket alarm and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network and is programmed with a unique PIN code that is accessible through buttons on your car. This allows you to enter key sequences that aren't accessible through the standard menus for media. For instance the volume up/down button, or source, cruise control, air conditioning etc. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 numbers which makes it extremely difficult for thieves to determine or break.

We can also include the service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your car is being serviced so that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. You can activate this mode by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment unit (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically re-arm when you return.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

If you're at home and in a meet and greet situation when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode, which allows you to start the car using your keys in the normal way, however it stops the engine from starting again unless the correct code is entered. This is ideal for those who need to turn their cars over to valet businesses or other trusted friends & family members. This lets you bring your vehicle to the garage for maintenance and maintenance, etc. without having to worry that it will be modified by a mechanic while you are waiting.

When the service/valet mode is enabled when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW is unable to drive once it is started. Anti-Hijack

With hi-tech thieves becoming more advanced, the technology in security systems has to improve, which is why Ghost has created this subtle and non-obtrusive immobiliser. This will activate the anti-hijack function and, once activated any attempt to start the engine will be immediately stopped. We can connect the Ghost device with your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go functions. You can also see your vehicle in real-time on a map displayed on your smartphone, which is ideal for tracking your car whilst in motion.

The Ghost can be installed on the dashboard or in the center console. It is completely hidden and secure, and does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to the vehicle's CAN Data Network (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique PIN code is embedded into it. The pin code needs to be selected prior to the engine's start. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to disable this system.

If the vehicle is being taken away, the Ghost will go into service mode and stop all functions until you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disable it. This feature was designed to protect your vehicle from thieves with high-tech equipment who use relay boxes to take it. Ghost also can stop 'Relay Style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most common method of stealing a car with a keyfob which has been duplicated or stolen through hacking. Ghost lets you stop this from happening by installing a device called Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device is installed inside the key-fob of your vehicle and disconnects its battery after a couple of inactive minutes. This can be accomplished with the majority of modern PKE keys.
