1. iRobot s8

This smart robot mop and vacuum is a fantastic option for a wide range of households. It is able to vacuum and mop well and has a great navigation system that includes both GPS and laser sensors and offers a broad range of controls and features accessible through the app. It also has a handy feature that allows you to add cleaning zones to certain areas that require more attention, and also to keep Out zones where you do not want it to be. It also gets software updates, just like all Roomba products, which enhance it over time.

Eufy, owned by Anker is now an established brand in the world of robots that are budget-friendly vacuums. However, it didn't offer a model that could also mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that has a wide range of advanced features, and can compete with more expensive models.

The main selling point of Eufy's this machine is its laser navigation. The previous Eufy devices have constructed a rough map of your home utilizing infrared sensors and bumping into things however the X8's laser mapping system is more precise. It takes less time to create a comprehensive map of your home and can store multiple maps. This is perfect for homes with multiple floors.

The X8 is still a good vacuum on bare floors that can carry debris under its side brushes and into the 400ml dust bin with relative ease. The X8's tyres, despite their circular shape, are very good at grabbing edges and corners. It's not a fantastic cat litter picker, though, with our tests showing it only removes about 90 percent of the fur off hard floors.

There's a basic mopping option which uses the same water tank as the vacuuming one. While this is great for loose spills, you can't regulate the amount of water it consumes which can limit its effectiveness for robot more severe stains. It does a good job in removing hair from pets. It has a higher pick-up rate than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is known for its quiet, efficient appliances. It features a stunning design, a great navigation system, and excellent cleaning power. But it has some operational hiccups that keep it from ranking as the best overall smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping system which uses LIDAR to map a room, and a pair 3D scanning cameras to detect and avoiding obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once mapped, the app lets you create virtual no-go zones as well as preferred areas that the robot will automatically clean. You can also manually change cleaning options, begin an automatic clean, or view live feeds of the onboard cameras from the main screen.

The sensors of the RX2 work well, registering furniture and other obstructions in real-time. The suction and sweeping power are top-notch, picking up surface litter from carpets of medium pile and dust on floors with no floor. However, it's not the most efficient robot available. It's not the best climber, and it has problems with transition strips made of steel.

You can also create a schedule for weekly or daily cleans, create no-go zones, and view its cleaning history. In a smart dark gray plastics, Ion feels sturdy and looks stylish in your home. Its rear dustbin is easily accessible for emptying, and taking out the filters is also a breeze.

5. Eufy 11S

Eufy 11S is a good option for those looking for a vacuum cleaner that is easy to use and doesn't have any frills at a low cost. It lacks some of the advanced features, such as digital mapping and Alexa integration, which are available in higher-end models, but if you don't need these functions, you can save money by purchasing this model.

This robot is simple to setup and use. It is more sophisticated in its automation than its competitors, including the ability to set up virtual boundary markers with its mobile application. Although its app isn't the most responsive, and the 980 does spin a bit when moving over cables, it's still a very capable robot vacuum.

One thing we love about the 980 is the fact that it utilizes its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneous localisation and mapping technology (or vSLAM) to remember the floor plan of your home. It will use this data to create a consistent and efficient cleaning path in every cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient robot vacuum than most high-end robots.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes which grab dirt on hard floors and carpets, as well as the spinning brush that sweeps debris into the robotic vacuum's bin. Its floor tracking sensors help it navigate across furniture and along edges, and Cliff Detect helps to prevent the Roomba from falling down the stairs. It will also return to the base station for easy recharges between sessions. Although the 980's battery lifespan and bin size aren't quite as efficient as other robot vacuums, it's a solid and reliable machine that will keep your floors clean for hours on end.
