BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the data bus CAN to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or putting in a new lock to bypass the security system.

In contrast to other immobilisers, the Ghost doesn't use LED indications or key-fobs. Instead it uses the buttons on your vehicle to allow you to enter a specific disarm sequence that only you are aware of.

Stop & Start

If you've previously driven a brand new BMW or used the stop-start feature, you may have noticed that when you stop the engine the engine will continue to continue to run for around 30 seconds after releasing the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system continuing to monitor your vehicle for a signal from the ignition key, and when this is found it will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car when you press a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, does not require you to cut OEM wires or install key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with an unique PIN code that can be accessible through buttons on your car. This allows you to enter key sequences that are not accessible through the standard media menus. For example the volume up/down button, or source controls, air conditioning, cruise control and more. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it very difficult for thieves to guess.

We can also add the ability to use a service/valet feature. This is activated while your vehicle is being maintained so that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. This can be accomplished by pressing the service button on your infotainment device 5 times (the system will flash to confirm this) and when you return, the Ghost will automatically arm again.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for top-of-the-line automobiles. It is completely undetectable, doesn't require the cutting of any original factory wires, and can disable your cars engine when an incorrect pin code is entered. It is a simple, but effective method to stop your car from being taken even with a cloned key. Service Mode / Valet Mode

The ghost 2 immobiliser installation is a top-of-the-line immobiliser designed to stop your vehicle from being taken by key cloning or hacking. It utilizes the factory buttons on your vehicle to generate a unique sequence of pushes that only you can identify. This is similar to the pin code security of your mobile phone. It's discreet, incredibly effective and deters even the most determined thieves!

When parked at home or in a meet and greet situation when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be set to service mode. This allows you to start your car using your keys normally, but stops the engine from being started again unless the correct code is entered. This is ideal for those who have to hand their cars over to valet services or other trusted friends & family members. This lets you bring your vehicle to the garage for repairs or repairs, etc. without worrying that it might be tampered with by an expert mechanic while you are waiting.

Once the service/valet mode is enabled when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW will not be able to drive once it has been turned on. This stops anyone else from driving the vehicle while you are away. After you return, it will be back to normal driving, stopping your car from being damaged or stolen again.

We can mount the Ghost to any BMW, all you need is the correct keys as the device does not use the original remotes and can be used in conjunction with them. If you don't wish to use a smartphone, or aren't comfortable using it, we offer an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to turn off the Ghost. This is an additional cost and requires a separate Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

With high-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated, the technology in security systems has to improve, which is why Ghost has developed this discreet and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It's designed to stop thieves from adding keys or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN network, and uses buttons on your vehicle to create an unique push-sequence which must be entered before the engine can begin.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated and the engine is restarted, any attempt to restart the engine will be thwarted. Once the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, in case it is not able to locate the correct code, it will also stall the engine (where possible). The Anti-Hijack feature can be removed by entering your push sequence, or by enabling service mode, which allows your vehicle to start and drive without needing to enter your PIN.

If you own a GPS device that is connected to your BMW, you can make use of it to disable the Anti-Hijack function to allow you to use your navigation system when the vehicle is parked. If you own a smartphone, you can also connect it to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

This product is Tassa-certified and is recognized by the majority of insurance companies. It will reduce the chances of your pride and Joy being stolen. It is discrete and inconspicuous, it does not interfere with the vehicle's functionality or require any special programming skills to set up or operate. It is completely undetectable to the tools used by thieves for diagnosing and is not susceptible to key cloning since it is connected to the vehicle's CAN data network.

Remote Control

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile app for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful when you have to go somewhere other than home and valet or mechanic needs to start your vehicle. The system will allow you to turn the vehicle on, select drive and quit service mode without needing keys. You can also track your vehicle's location on the map in real-time using your smartphone.

The Ghost can be fitted under the dashboard or in the centre console, it is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require extra wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is programmed in it. The pin code needs to be entered before the engine starts. This prevents thieves from using a cloned key or replacing the ECU to get around this system.

If the vehicle is taken away, the Ghost will enter service mode and disable all functions unless you have a PIN code or the mobile application to disable it. This feature was designed to protect you vehicle from thieves with high-tech equipment who use relay boxes to steal it. It also prevents thieves from being able to use their mobile phone to activate your sat nav or MP3 player to locate your vehicle!

Ghost also blocks the 'Relay-style Frequency amplification'. This is the most popular method of stealing a vehicle using a keyfob that's copied, or stolen by hacking. Ghost can help you avoid this by installing an anti-theft device in your vehicle that is called Secure-A Key. The device is inserted into your vehicle's key-fob and disconnects the battery after a short period of inactivity. This can be done on the majority of modern PKE key-fobs.
