BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from adding a new key or even replacing the ECU to bypass your security system as it requires a correct PIN code to start the engine.

The Ghost is different from other immobilisers in that it doesn't rely on key fobs or LED indicators. Instead it uses the buttons in your vehicle to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that only you know.

Stop & Start

If you've been in a BMW or utilized its stop-start feature, you may have noticed the engine continues to run for 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. This is due to the BMW engine management system constantly monitoring your vehicle for an ignition key, and once this signal is detected, it will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost is a device that prevents this by stopping the vehicle when you hit a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a new generation device, does not require cutting OEM wires or install key fobs or alarms from the aftermarket. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with an unique PIN code that can be accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter key sequences that are not accessible through the standard menus for media. For instance the volume up/down button, or source, cruise control, air conditioning and more. The PIN can be between 4 and 20 characters, making it difficult for thieves to guess.

We can also add a service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your vehicle is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is hidden from the garage. You can activate this by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment unit (the system will flash in confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for top-of-the-line vehicles. It is completely unnoticeable and does not require cutting any original wiring in the factory and can shut down your car's engine if the wrong pin code is entered. It is a simple but efficient method to prevent your car from being stolen even with keys that are cloned. Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a top-of-the-line immobiliser that is designed to protect your vehicle from being taken through key cloning and hacking. It works by using the factory buttons on your vehicle to create an individual sequence of presses that only you can identify, much like pin code security on your mobile phone. Its discreet and incredibly effective in stopping even the most zealous thieves from ever trying!

If you're at home and in the event of a meet and greet when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be switched into service mode which allows you to start your car using your keys normally, however it stops the engine from starting until the proper code is entered. This is great for those who need to hand over their cars to valet service companies or trusted family members or friends. It also lets you get the car into the garage for servicing etc without worrying about it being tampered with or stolen by a mechanic while you wait.

When the service/valet mode is enabled when the service/valet mode is enabled, your BMW is unable to drive once it has been started. This prevents anyone else from testing driving the vehicle while you are away. When you return, the vehicle will revert to normal and will not be tampered or stolen again.

The Ghost can be installed on any BMW. All you require are the correct keys, as the device does not utilize the original remotes, but can be used with them. We are TASSA registered, DBS-security screened and fully trained in system installation. You can be sure that the installation will be done correctly and that your Ghost device will work exactly as it was intended. Your car will also be registered in a database and you will receive a document that you can show to your insurance company. they will love these devices and often receive substantial discounts!

If you do not want to use a smartphone, or aren't comfortable with it, we can provide an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to disable the Ghost. This is an additional cost and requires a separate Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

With hi-tech thieves becoming more and more sophisticated the technology in security systems has to improve, which is why Ghost has created this discrete and non-obtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to prevent thieves from using a key or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons on your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence which needs to be completed before the engine can start.

This will activate the anti-hijack function and, once it is activated, any attempt to start the engine will be blocked. Once the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators. If it fails to locate the correct code, it will also stall the engine (where possible). By entering your push sequence, or entering service mode, you can cancel the Anti-Hijack function. This allows your vehicle to temporarily start without entering PIN.

If you have an GPS device linked up to your BMW it can be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system inside your car when the vehicle is parked unsupervised. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti theft feature, as well as other functions.

This product is Tassa-certified and recognized by most insurance companies. It will decrease the risk of your pride and Joy being stolen. It is completely discrete and will not affect your vehicle's functionality. It does not require any programming expertise to install or use. It is totally undetectable by diagnostic tools that thieves will employ, and it is immune to key cloning as it is directly connected to your vehicles CAN data network.

Remote Control

We can connect the Ghost device to your mobile application to allow remote control of keyless start and go capabilities. This can be useful when a valet or mechanic has to start your car, but you have to be somewhere and not in the vicinity. The system allows you to start the car, select drive and leave the service mode without using your key fobs. You can also see your vehicle in real-time on a map displayed on your smartphone, ideal for tracking your car when on the move.

The Ghost can be placed on the dashboard or within the centre console. It is completely hidden and tamper-proof. It does not need any additional wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to Ethernet cable) and a personal pin code is inserted into it. This pin code must be chosen before the vehicle is started. This stops thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to bypass this system.

If the vehicle is stolen in any way, the ghost immobiliser and tracker will enter a security mode and shut down all functions unless the PIN code is entered or you make use of the mobile app to dearm it. This feature was designed to protect you vehicle from thieves using high-tech devices who use relay boxes to steal it. This will stop thieves from using their mobile phones to activate your sat-navs or mp3 players to locate your vehicle!

Ghost also stops 'Relay Style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most common way a car is being stolen using a key fob that has been cloned or stolen by hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this from happening by installing a device known as Secure-A Key inside your vehicle. The device installs inside the key-fob in your vehicle and will disconnect the battery after a couple of minutes of inactivity, this is possible on all modern PKE key-fobs.
