The app can be used to create a 3D map of your home, set no-go zones and schedule specific cleaning schedules. The app provides an ongoing record of cleaning times and area coverage and lets you view the performance of each room or area. You can even assign different cleaning options for each area. If you have an Echo device or other smart speaker, you can also add voice control using Alexa or Google Assistant.

2. IRobot Roomba J7+

The Roomba j7+ robot vacuum is a great choice for those who want an automatic vacuum that can also mop. The model is equipped with iRobot's imprint Smart Mapping technology to create the floor plan of your home, ensuring that it can clean your home in the most efficient manner possible. Other features include Dirt Detect to focus on areas that are more messy and Reactive Sensor Technology that helps the robot avoid obstacles in its path.

As with other iRobot models, the J7+ can be programmed to begin cleaning while you're away and stop when you return after it's done. It can be controlled with the iRobot app or via Alexa and Google Assistant-enabled smart speakers. It responds to voice commands better than most competing robots, like the self emptying Neabot NoMo NoMo N1.

The iRobot Genius App allows you to control the robot via the remote or your smartphone. It also makes it easy to set up the j7+ and modify other settings. It can even guide new users through an onboarding process that will help the robot learn its home and outline its cleaning space.

The j7+ has an extra-large dust bin than the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tried. It can hold more debris, but you'll still need to empty the bin every seven to eight months (or more frequently if you have pet hair or any other massive debris). iRobot sells replacement bags and filters separately.

The j7+ also has a front-facing camera that is supposed to assist the robot in avoiding dangers like power cords and pet waste. The camera isn't able to work so well in dim light, though it's possible to consider a rival with a better-performing camera, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.

Lastly, I was pleased to discover that the iRobot j7+ automatically emptys its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal after it's docked. The T10 OMNI is a great tool for cleaning pet hair. After two cleaning cycles, it was able remove the majority of pet hair from my carpets. It even managed to maneuver around furniture that were blocking its way.

Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni is still an excellent choice for those seeking a self empty robot vacuum-emptying robotic vacuum and mop. The mop it comes with is as powerful as its vacuums, and it sports a a much more attractive design than the Roomba. The T10's smart features make up for the lack of the remote. With the application, you can easily start and stop a cleaning process. You can also schedule it, and change device settings.

4. Shark ION the XL

The ION XL, Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop Shark's most advanced self empty robot vacuum and mop-emptying robotic vacuum, is a fantastic choice for those who want to keep their homes clean without lifting a finger. It also has exceptional performance. The vacuum comes with a huge bin that can hold a month's worth of dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the conclusion of every cleaning session for self Emptying robot vacuum and mop long-term storage. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most versatile available. It can clean carpets and hard floors. You can control the robot through an app or voice commands. You can also make a map to clean your home whenever you want. The robot is also able to move around furniture and navigate stairs and carpeted rooms with ease.

I tested the IONXL using our standard test for debris in a family room as well as a kitchen with hardwood floors and area rugs. It did a great job cleaning up debris and pet hair from the floors, and took care of some of the most stubborn dust particles on carpets. It was also good at maneuvering and didn't get in the way of my bar stools as did the iRobot j7+ in this test. The only downside is that the IONXL cannot detect toys, cords or shoes that are in its path, which means you'll have to pre-clean your house before running this robotic vacuum if you want it to avoid these things.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as smart as the iRobot j7+, but it's an excellent option if you do not want to spend more than $500 on a robot. It's superior to the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways and is easier to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It's also superior at cleaning floors with no carpet and picking up pet fur, but not as good on low- or higher-pile carpet.

It's not as robust, but it's still an excellent choice. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, and it can be operated by an app or voice commands, and it is simple to keep up with maintenance. It's also a good price.
