BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost utilizes the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This prevents thieves from replacing the ECU or adding an additional lock to circumvent the security system.

Unlike other immobilisers the Ghost doesn't use LED indications or key-fobs. Instead, it uses your vehicle's existing buttons to allow you to enter a unique disarm sequence that you only know.

Stop & Start

If you've previously driven a BMW or used its stop-start feature, you might have noticed that the engine continues to run for 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to check the vehicle for signals emanating from the ignition key. If it detects this the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car every time you press a button.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser, a next-generation device, does not require cutting OEM wires or add aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to the BMW CAN data network, and is programmed with an unique PIN code that is accessed by buttons in your car. This lets you enter the key sequences which aren't accessible in normal media menus. For instance, volume up/down or source, cruise control, air conditioning, etc. The PIN is between 4 and 20 characters, making it very difficult for thieves to guess.

We can also add to the system the service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your vehicle is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is kept from view by the garage. This can be done by pressing the service button on your infotainment system five times (the system will flash to confirm this) and then when you return the Ghost will automatically arm again.

Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is the most effective immobiliser on the market. It protects your vehicle from being taken by hacking or key cloning. It works by utilizing the factory buttons of your vehicle to create an unique sequence of pushes which only you can recognize, similar to like the pin code security on your mobile phone. It's subtle and extremely effective, not to mention deterring even the most determined thieves from ever trying!

When parked at your home or in a meet and greet situation in a meeting and greet situation, the ghost immobiliser car can be set to service mode. This lets you start the car using your keys but prevents the engine from starting again until the correct code has been entered. This is ideal for customers who must hand over their cars to valet service companies, or trusted family members or friends. This lets you bring your vehicle to the garage for servicing, or other maintenance. without worrying that it might be modified by a mechanic while you wait.

Once the valet or service mode is activated it will stop your BMW from being driven after it has been started. This prevents anyone from test driving the vehicle while you are away. When you return, it will return to normal driving, stopping your car from being damaged or stolen again.

The Ghost can be installed on any BMW. All you require are the correct keys, since the device doesn't use the original remotes but can be used in conjunction with them. Anti-Hijack

Ghost developed this discreet device that is unobtrusive and helps in battling the ever-increasing sophistication of high-tech thieves. It is designed to prevent thieves from adding keys or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it off. Ghost connects to your CAN data network and uses the buttons on your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console, as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence that requires to be entered before the engine can start.

Once the anti-hijacking mode is activated, any attempt to restart the engine will be blocked. If the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it fails to locate the correct code, it will also stall the engine (where it is). The Anti-Hijack feature can be removed by entering your push sequence, or by enabling service mode, which allows your vehicle to begin and drive, without having to enter your PIN.

If you have a GPS device linked up to your BMW it can be used to turn off the Anti-Hijack feature so you can still use the navigation system inside your car whilst the vehicle is parked and unattended. If you have a smart-phone you can also link it up to your Ghost app to control the anti-hijack function and other functions.

Remote Control

We can connect your ghost 2 immobiliser review device to your mobile app to allow remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is helpful if you are other than home and valet or mechanic need to start your vehicle. The system allows you to turn the vehicle on by selecting drive and then quit service mode without needing your key fobs. You can also track your vehicle's location on the map in real-time using your smartphone.

The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard or in the centre console, it is completely secure and untouchable and does not require any extra wiring. The device is connected to CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a unique pin code is inserted into it. This pin code has to be chosen before the engine starts. This will prevent thieves from gaining access to the system using the cloned or replaced ECU.

If the vehicle is being taken away, the Ghost will go into service mode and shut down all functions unless you have a PIN code or the mobile application to disarm it. This feature was developed to safeguard your vehicle from high-tech criminals who are using relay boxes to steal your vehicle. This will stop thieves from using mobile phones to activate your sat-nav system or mp3 player to locate your vehicle!

Ghost can also stop 'Relay Style Frequency Amplification'. This is the most frequent method of stealing a vehicle using a keyfob that's cloned, or stolen through hacking. Ghost can help you prevent this from happening by installing a device known as Secure-A Key in your vehicle. The device is inserted into the key-fob in your vehicle and disconnects the battery after a short period of inactivity, this can be done on the majority of modern PKE key-fobs.
