Bean to Cup Coffee Machines

Hot-Water Tube

The machine may appear to be performing it is doing a simple task, but it is actually working extremely difficult. For starters, it takes the cold water you pour in and passes it through a tube which is attached on one side to the hole in the bottom of the reservoir, and on the other to the heating element made of aluminum.

When you turn on the machine, the heating element that resists heats up starts to heat up and causes the water that is in the aluminum tube to come to a boil. The turbulence produced by the boiling liquid creates bubbles that rise up through the hole at the bottom of the reservoir, and then up the exit hose. These bubbles move hot water up the tube until it reaches the coffee pot.

If your coffee maker makes odd sounds, it could mean that the one-way valve malfunctioning. It is in the hole at the reservoir's bottom or in the aluminum heating tub. Without this valve it would cause the boiling water to flow back into the reservoir instead of rising up the tube.

As the hot water drips down the sides, it is carrying the flavor of the ground coffee beans. The water absorbs the ground coffee beans and then releases the oils that give the cup of joe that delicious taste.
