BMW Ghost Immobiliser

The Ghost uses the CAN data bus to communicate with your vehicle. This stops thieves from replacing the ECU or adding a new lock to bypass the security system.

The Ghost is unlike other immobilisers because it doesn't use key fobs or LED indicators. It relies on the buttons of your vehicle to let you to enter a unique sequence of disarming that you only know.

Stop & Start

If you've ever driven a new BMW or used the stop-start feature, then you might have noticed that once stopped the engine will still be running for approximately 30 seconds after you release the brake pedal. The BMW engine management system continues to watch the vehicle for a signal that comes from the ignition key. When it detects this the vehicle will continue to run. The Autowatch 2 Ghost immobiliser prevents this from happening by stopping the car whenever you push a button sequence.

Our BMW ghost immobiliser is a revolutionary next-generation device that does not require cutting OEM wires or installing an aftermarket alarms and key fobs. It is connected to your BMW's CAN network and programmed with an encrypted, secure PIN code that is accessible through buttons in your car. This lets you enter the key push sequence that isn't present in the standard menus for media, such as volume up/down and source, cruise control or air conditioning on and stops your car from starting until the sequence is entered. The PIN can range between 4 and 20 numbers and is therefore difficult for thieves to determine or crack.

We can also add to the system a service/valet mode. This mode is activated when your vehicle is being serviced to ensure that the Ghost is away from the garage. You can activate this mode by pressing the service button five times on your infotainment system (the system will flash with confirmation) and the Ghost will automatically arm itself when you return.

Ghost immobilisers are highly recommended for high-end vehicles. It is completely undetectable, doesn't require the cutting of the original factory wires and can disable your cars engine when an incorrect pin code is entered. It is a simple, but effective method to stop your vehicle from being stolen, even with cloned keys. Service Mode / Valet Mode

The Ghost is a market-leading immobiliser that is designed to protect your vehicle from being taken through key cloning and hacking. It makes use of the factory buttons of your vehicle to generate an unique sequence of pushes that only you can identify. It is similar to the pin code security on your mobile phone. It's discreet, incredibly effective and can deter even the most obstinate thieves!

If you are parked at home or in the event of a meet and greet when you are at a meet and greet, the Ghost can be put into service mode, which allows you to start the vehicle using your keys as normal but stops the engine from starting again unless the proper code is entered. This is perfect for customers who must transfer their vehicles to valet services, or trusted family members and friends. This lets you take your car to the garage for servicing and maintenance, or other maintenance. without worrying about it being altered by mechanics while you wait.

Once the service/valet mode is activated and enabled, your BMW is unable to drive once it has been started. This prevents anyone else from testing driving it while you're away. After you return, it will revert back to normal stopping your vehicle from being tampered with or stolen once again.

The Ghost can be fitted to any BMW. All you require are the correct keys, as the device does not use the original remotes but can be used in conjunction with them. We are TASSA registered, DBS security checked and fully trained in the system to ensure you are assured of the quality of the installation and that your new Ghost device will work according to the specifications. You will also receive a certificate that you can present to your insurance company. They love these devices, and often offer substantial discounts.

If you do not want to use a smartphone, or don't feel at ease with it, we can provide an optional Bluetooth tag that can be used to disable the Ghost. This is an extra cost and requires a separate Bluetooth pairing.

Anti-Hijack

With the advent of high-tech thieves becoming increasingly advanced, the technology in security systems has to change, that's why Ghost has created this subtle and unobtrusive immobiliser. It is designed to stop thieves from putting in keys or replacing the ECU to start your vehicle and drive it off. Ghost is connected to your CAN network and uses buttons on your vehicle to generate an unique push-sequence which must be entered before the engine can be started.

This will activate the anti-hijack feature and once active any attempt to start the engine will be immediately stopped. If the system detects that the vehicle has stopped moving it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, in case it fails to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible). The Anti-Hijack feature is removed by entering your push sequence, or by enabling service mode, which allows your car to start and drive without having to enter your PIN.

If you have an GPS device linked up to your BMW it could be used to cancel the Anti-Hijack feature, allowing you to still use the navigation system inside your car whilst the vehicle is parked not being watched. You can also use your smart-phone to control the anti-theft feature as well as other functions.

This product is Tassa-verified and is recognized by a majority of insurance companies. It reduces the chance of your pride and Joy being stolen. It is completely discrete and won't interfere with the functionality of your vehicle. It doesn't require any programming expertise to install or use. It is totally undetectable to the tools used by thieves for diagnosing and is invulnerable to key cloning, as it connects to the vehicle's CAN data network.

Remote Control

We can connect your Ghost device to your mobile application for remote control of keyless start and go functionality. This is useful when you need to be somewhere else and valet or mechanic needs to start your vehicle. The system allows you to turn the car stolen with ghost immobiliser on and off, then select drive and quit service mode without needing keys. You can also track your vehicle's location on an interactive map on your smartphone.

The Ghost can be placed under the dashboard or in the center console. It is completely hidden and tamperproof and does not require any additional wiring. The device is connected to the CAN Data Network of the vehicle (similar to an Ethernet cable) and a personalised pin code is programmed in it. This pin code must be selected before the vehicle starts. This prevents thieves from using a copied key or replacing the ECU in order to disable this system.

If the vehicle is being stolen the Ghost will go into service mode and stop all functions until you have the PIN code or can use the mobile application to disarm it. This feature was designed to protect your vehicle from high tech thieves who are now utilising relay boxes to steal your vehicle. It also prevents thieves from using their mobile phone to turn on your sat nav system or mp3 player to locate your vehicle!

Ghost can also stop "Relay Style Frequency Amplification". This is the most frequent method of stealing a car with a keyfob that's been cloned, or stolen through hacking. Ghost can help you avoid this by installing an anti-theft device within your vehicle that is called Secure-A Key. The device is installed inside the key fob of your car and then disconnects the battery after a couple of inactive minutes. This is possible with most modern PKE keys.
