iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review

Unlike some robot vacuums, this one isn't afraid of taking on the stairs. However, like any other mop or vacuum it could get blocked by debris, such as loose tennis shoes or ribbons and yarn, play jewelry or other loose objects.

The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms and create no-go zones. It also lets you keep track of your mops's progress and the status of its battery.

iRobot Combo j7+

The Combo J7+ is part of the robot vacuum and mop lineup and combines the robotic cleaner's smart mapping capabilities with its ability to handle spills. It uses the same acoustic sensors onboard and iAdapt 2.0 navigation that is used by other Roomba options and maps your home 7 times faster than earlier models. It also lets you set Keep Out Zones (for rooms which the best robot vacuum for pet hair should not enter) and Clean Zones (for rooms that it must be able to clean).

The most significant feature of the j7 is its robotic arm which keeps the mop pad hidden away when it's not in use and lowers it to clean carpets or hard flooring. The concept is to prevent spraying water on the rug and the Combo j7+ does well at this during my tests. The robot backed off when it saw an area rug and did not attempt to cross it, even when I moved the rug around several times.

The arm comes with a 240mL tank that can be easily removed and filled, making it more manageable than mop pads on other 2-in-1 robots. It utilizes iRobot PrevisionVision obstacle-avoidance technology which is more advanced than other systems of this type.

iRobot Combo i5

The machine is designed to be used for mopping and vacuuming with one machine, this is a top choice for multitaskers. The vacuuming process is performed with a specially designed bin that can hold up 60 days worth of debris and iRobot claims can reduce the amount of dust released into the air during the process. The i5+ comes with dual multi-surface rubber brush and Power-Lifting suction to take care of dust and dirt, pet hair, and staining. When you're ready to mop, just swap the Mopping Bin and a compatible cleaning solution.

The i5+ runs iRobot OS and is smarter as you use it. It creates a Smart Map, which remembers the names of rooms as well as your cleaning preferences. The iRobot App allows you to set a schedule or direct the robot to clean a certain room.

iRobot Combo i3

The iRobot Combo i3 has been upgraded from the original Roomba i3. It still comes with a HEPA-filter to trap allergens and the same fantastic dust compartment that is outside, but it now supports smart mapping. This means that you can designate zones that are not allowed to be used to stop it from sweeping those areas again. The i3 Plus still has a bunch of other excellent features, including its advanced cleaning system with 10x power-lifting suction and a three-stage process for cleaning. It has a textured finish to keep dust, pet hair and fingerprints from getting on.

It performs well on bare floors and is able to clean most of the debris however, it was a bit difficult with pet hair on low-pile carpets. It does a fantastic job on carpets with a lot of pile and is quieter than the other models. The i3 costs a bit more than the Roborock S4 Max, but it comes with a shark self emptying robot vacuum-emptying mechanism that cleans the mop pads, and then refills the water reservoir.

With the i3 application, you can make schedules for cleaning at a specific time to suit your needs. You can also control your robot using your voice assistant to begin or stop cleaning. It also tracks your home's unique layout and offer a customized cleaning routine and scheduling. It utilizes the latest mapping sensors to navigate hardwood and carpet and learns about your habits to improve performance.

iRobot Combo i2

The Combo i2 is the latest robot mop and vacuum from iRobot. It is a combination of iRobot's intelligent floor cleaning technologies to make it a perfect choice for homes with hard floors as well as a few rugs or carpets. It does, however, come with a strong vacuum system and brushes made of rubber that don't get caught in pet hair. It's also a good option for carpets with a high pile because it is able to handle the more dirt and debris better than other vacuums. The i4 also requires less maintenance and has lower ongoing costs, and runs longer in its most suction-free mode.
