Narwal Robot Vacuum and Mop

A relative newcomer to the world of robot vacuums, Narwal offers a sweeping and mopping system that's impressive. But it's also expensive and is hampered by a clunky application with a steep learning curve.

Drop a sheet of soap into the clean water tank at the base station to clean. Then, the pads are sprayed using clean water, and scrubs floors using 10N of pressure.

Features

The Narwal T10 is a combination robot mop and vacuum that can sweep clean, scrub, and scrub hard floors. Its smart mapping and navigation system is based on simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology. It also comes with anti-collision, cliff-sensing, and anti-collision technologies that help to prevent the machine from falling down stairs or hitting furniture. It also detects and avoid carpets. This is a common issue for many robot vacuums, mops and hybrids.

The robot has two huge water tanks, one for clean and one for dirty. It automatically pre-soaks the pads in clean water before mopping. During the mopping process sensors will notify you when it's time to swap pads and refill the water. It requires 16 ounces clean water, which is lower than the majority of similar robots.

Once you've cleaned the dirt off the mop pads the T10 returns to its base station, and will auto-dry them to avoid cross-contamination. It then resumes mopping exactly where it began. The app also allows you to select the intensity of cleaning levels, including a thorough clean that removes any lingering debris and dirt for a more thorough job. It is equipped with a suction motor that is effective at sucking up dirt and debris, though it struggles to remove debris lodged in carpets and rugs.

Performance

The Narwal Freo does an amazing job cleaning hard floors. It has large water tanks that are simple to maintain and a variety mopping intensity settings. It can also clean small spills or messes from carpet. The vacuuming capabilities aren't as impressive. The suction power of 1,800Pa is a bit lower than more expensive robo-vacuums, such as the Roborock S6 MaxV Ultra.

The Freo's smart mapping and navigation technology gives it the ability to adapt to the environment and plan an optimized cleaning routine. It uses simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) to build an image of its surroundings. It then works in a zig-zag fashion to ensure an even finish and prevent cross-contamination. It then shares this map with the narwal app, so you can alter cleaning settings and create no-go zones to prevent it from mopping or vacuuming certain areas.

Once the Freo has been mapped and is able to continue cleaning where it left. The mops themselves clean, and they return to their dock after each use for washing and drying. This saves time and shields hands from allergens and dirt. The Freo also conserves water by using only 16 oz of water for each mopping cycle, which is roughly the same amount as you'd find in a grande-sized coffee cup.

This robot can easily switch from mopping to vacuuming. It's an excellent choice for those who have both in their home. Its sweeping abilities are superb, and it does an excellent job of picking up dust, pet hair and other debris. The Freo's dual side brushes enable it to reach into corners better than single-brush vacs. Additionally, its cliff-sensing functions and anti-collision capabilities aid in keeping it from slipping down staircases or hitting furniture.

While it's a good vacuum/mop combination however, the Narwal T10 is pricier than most of its rivals. The Narwal T10's huge base station houses two 1.3 gallon tanks that need to be refilled often. This can be a hassle especially if you're accustomed to the tanks that fill faster of other robots. Its app is cluttered and a bit irritable, and doesn't include the features of customization you'd expect from a robot that costs more.

App

The Narwal robot vacuum and mop is distinctive among other robovacs available. The T10 is a two-in-one self-cleaning machine that was designed from the ground up. While others boast great mopping capabilities, with a vacuuming feature added, the T10 was designed to be a self-cleaning two-in-one machine. Its mopping, sweeping and other features are efficient and easy to manage through the mobile app narwal. The buttons on the base station allow manual adjustments in the middle of cleaning.

The narwal robot vacuum is powered by Lidar and SLAM technologies which make it one of the most intelligent cleaning machines. It makes use of its sensors identify your home's layout and then transforms that data into a detailed cleaning plan for your floors. This is a great feature because it allows the T10 to stay out of the way in your home and to track what it's doing.

Narwal also has the ability to map "no-go" zones. Set up no-go zones in the app to have the T10 beware of certain areas during cleaning. This is helpful if you have area rugs which you don't want T10 to vacuum or mop on.

The T10's auto-cleaning feature is also impressive. It will regularly return to docking station, and wash and resoak each mopping pads. The system for cleaning pads stops you from dunking your mop in dirty water, and also keeps it free of germs between mopping sessions.

The narwal mops also are constructed with a unique triangular shape that covers more surface area and offers a more efficient clean in tight and narwal robot vacuum corner spaces. The two side brushes assist trap hair and dirt, and remove them from the floor so that they don't get stuck in your vacuum, or drain the battery.

Contrary to other robotic vacuums that are available, Narwal is unique in that Narwal does not have a powerful beater bar that can easily remove dirt and debris stuck in carpets. It relies instead on its advanced sensors to recognize and clean hard surfaces such as wet spots or stains. The narwal mop and vacuum is also highly energy-efficient which makes it a great choice for late-night cleaning. The high-efficiency motor reduces the amount of noise it produces.
