Best Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

A robot vacuum is the ideal device to keep the cleanliness of your home. It can pick up dust, pet hair and other surface debris.

Certain robots can connect to smart assistants such as Alexa or Google Assistant to provide a hands-free environment. Find models that are rechargeable and continue cleaning where they left off.

1. iRobot s8

This smart robot mop and vacuum is a great option for a wide range of households. It can be used to vacuum and mop, has excellent navigation with both GPS and laser sensors, and robot vacuum & mop offers a broad range of features and controls accessible via the app. It also comes with a helpful feature that allows you to add cleaning zones to certain areas that require more attention, as well as Keep Out zones where you don't want it to be. As with all Roomba devices, it is updated with new software updates that make it even better over time.

It's costly, but it's also one of the most advanced robot vacuums ZDNet has tested. While the Anker-owned Eufy has made its name in the field of low-cost robot vacuums, it's never offered an all-in-one model that can also mop. The X8 Hybrid is a new model that offers a range of advanced features, and can compete with more expensive models.

The most significant selling point for Eufy with the X8 is its laser navigation. The X8 utilizes laser mapping technology that is more precise than previous Eufy devices. It also takes significantly less time to create an accurate map of your space and stores multiple maps, which is ideal for multi-floor homes.

The X8 is a decent vacuum cleaner for floors that are clean. It is able to easily throw debris under the side brushes and into its 400ml dustbin. The X8's tyres, despite their circular shape, are good at grabbing corners and edges. Our tests showed that it was able to remove 90% of the fur on hard floors.

There's a basic mopping mode that utilizes the same water tank as the vacuuming. While this is a good option for spills that are not too large however, you aren't able to regulate the amount of water it consumes which can limit its effectiveness on more severe staining. It is effective of removing pet hair. It has a higher rate of pick-up than the Roborock S7.

3. Miele RX2

Awarded for its quiet and efficient home appliances, Miele's RX2 robot vacuum & mop vacuum has excellent cleaning power, gorgeous design, and a great navigation. But it has some operational hiccups which prevent it from being considered as the top overall smart robot vacuum.

The RX2 is equipped with a dual-sensor mapping system that uses a LIDAR to map an area and a pair of 3D scanning cameras for detecting and eliminating obstacles (such as furniture legs or pet waste). Once mapped the app allows you to create virtual no-go zones as well as favorite sections that the robot will clean automatically. You can also alter the cleaning modes, initiate cleaning manually, or view a live feed of the cameras onboard from the main screen.

The sensors of the RX2 work well by registering furniture and obstructions in real-time. And its sweeping and suction power are top-of-the-line and cleans up surface debris from carpets of medium pile and dust on floors that are unfinished. But it's not the most flexible robot available. Like many other robots, it's not a good climber and has issues with things like thresholds made of metal transition strips.

But it's important that a machine can do the job that's the reason our ZDNet staff looked over and tested a number of the most popular models to help you find the right one for your home.

4. Shark ION

This budget robovac is a robot that is similar to other, but it has several more features and a better performance. Its smart mapping system generates 3D and 2D maps of your house and uses to navigate and avoid obstructions. It's even able to spot common obstructions such as furniture legs and power cords in real-time. This combination of sensors together with a bump sensor, and an infrared drop sensor which keeps it away from steps make it one of the most flexible vacs we've tested.

In our tests, it was able to moved over large shag rug and didn't end up stuck on them (like the RoboVac 11s or Roomba 690). Its navigational skills were also impressive as its score for composite tests on carpet and bare floors was better than the competition, and it took in 98.5 percent of the surface litter and embedded pet hair from our lab test samples.

The controls are simpler than competitors. There's a round cleaning button on the top. You can launch it via the app or via voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also schedule daily or weekly cleanings, create no-go zones, and look up its cleaning history. Covered in stylish dark gray plastics, Ion feels sturdy and looks stylish in your home. The dust bin on the rear is easy to empty and removing the filter equally easy.

5. Eufy 11S

If you're looking for a basic robotic vacuum that is simple and has no frills at a reasonable cost, the Eufy 11S is a great option. It doesn't have many of the more advanced features, such as digital mapping and Alexa integration, which are available in higher-end models, but if you don't need those functions you can save a little money with this model.

This robot is very easy to install and use. It does not require a smartphone app or Wi-Fi connection, however it does have the ability to control the remote with a remote that lets you choose between different modes and adjust the suction level. You can also manually set the robotvac to a cleaning schedule.

In our tests, we discovered that the 11S was extremely efficient in getting dirt and fur from carpets with low pile and hard floors. Its slim profile allowed it to pass under furniture that is low-hanging and other items that some heavier robots were unable to get at. It was able to pass easily over thresholds of doorways and transition from one type of floor to another.

The 11S, as with other robots, can also eat certain objects, like cords and cat toys. The manufacturer states that you can avoid this by keeping these items off the floor and using the possibility of a cord organizer. It also recommends cleaning the dustbin on a regular basis by replacing the filters and washing or robot vacuum & Mop changing the brushes as required.

6. iRobot Roomba 980

The Roomba 980 is the flagship robot vacuum. It's expensive but it's the best robot vacuum you can purchase. Its self-navigating features and environmental mapping are something to behold. It is more sophisticated in its automation than its competitors, including the ability to set up virtual boundary markers using its mobile application. While its app is a little sluggish, and the 980 does spin out a bit when rolling over cables, it's still a very capable robot vacuum.

One thing we love about the 980 is that it uses its iAdapt 2.0 navigation sensors and its visual simultaneous localisation and mapping technology (or vSLAM) to remember the floor plan of your home. It will use this data to create a consistent, efficient cleaning path through each cycle. The result is cleaner floors and a more efficient vacuum than most high-end robots.

Other features of the 980 include dual multi-surface brushes which grab dirt from floors and carpets and the spinning brush that sweeps debris into the robotic vacuum’s bin. The floor tracking sensor assists it in maneuvering around furniture as well as along edges and stairs. Cliff Detect prevents the Roomba from falling. It also automatically returns to its base station to ensure hassle-free recharges between sessions. Although the 980's battery life and bin size aren't as impressive as other robot vacuum cleaner vacuums, it's a reliable and solid machine that can keep your floors spotless for hours at a time.
