I tested the IONXL using our standard test for debris in a family space and kitchen with hardwood floors and area rug. The ION XL may not be as smart as the iRobot j7+, but it's an excellent alternative if you don't wish to spend more than $500 on cleaning robots. It's superior to the eufy RoboVac 11S in most ways, including being more easy to maintain and incurring lower recurring expenses. It's also better in vacuuming floors that are not clean and removing pet fur, but isn't as effective on carpets with a low or carpets with higher pile.

It's not as sturdy, but it's still a solid option. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a large capacity bin. It can be controlled by an app or a voice command and is easy to maintain. It's also a great price.
