The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is an excellent choice if you are looking for a robotic vacuum and mop that's middle-of-the-road. It offers a great mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

In the course of testing, it was able to handle dust and dry oats on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard floors. It doesn't use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do to map your home.

1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the top robot vacuums. It has a lot of features and impressive cleaning power, including a dirt compartment that is integrated into the base of charging. This robot can recognize your habits of cleaning, and suggest automated schedules to provide you with an effortless cleaning experience.

The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automatic cleaning functions at the touch of the button. You can choose the general clean option that focuses on the removal of larger particles like cereal and rice. You can also choose two mappings to ensure that your home is completely cleaned.

This robot vacuum is effective on floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as quickly as some others do and can clean up pet hair without much difficulty. It's a challenge with carpets that are high-pile or plush, but iRobot claims that future models will be better.

The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that concentrates on improving corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug walls and furniture. It's a nice improvement over the traditional hockey puck shape of most robovacs, though we found it to be incrementally better than circular models.

irobot robot vacuum claims that the S9+ also comes with an advanced filtration system, which prevents micro-sized particles and allergens from circulating within your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the price cost.

Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to keep track of the structure of your home, and vSLAM for Best Robot Vacuum and Mop mapping the interior of your home. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles like stairs and other barriers, and also to clean your entire home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, as well as establish virtual boundaries, so it knows to avoid areas that need extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a machine that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as good as those on higher-end models. And its mopping system is better as its spinning pads scrub your floors much better than the vibrating pads.

The only drawback is that it does not have an additional rubber brush to allow to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's a small cost to pay if want to get one of the best robots on the market. The robo-vac's tank for dust is also bigger than those on many of its competitors and it takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even at the highest dirt level.

For the mopping device, I was impressed by its ability to scrub off tough dirt from my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest, which are less aggressive than the higher-powered ones create little noise, allowing you to work or even watch television without interruption. If it comes across an object, such as a wall or piece of furniture it gently bumps into it before moving along.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac has multiple functions and automatically transfers trash into a hidden bin. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app is adept at alerting you when something is in need of attention, for Best Robot Vacuum and Mop example, the water tank being empty or a scheduled cleaning session that was cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.

You can also create and merge rooms to modify how the Q Revo treats your abode. That's a handy feature for those who have multiple areas of the home with different flooring materials or if there's items that need to be cleaned out frequently, like clothes, toys and books. The robot vacuum was also one of the best performers in my test and was able to remove debris from carpets and hardwood floors with the first attempt. It can even clean up spills that are wet, though I recommend cleaning them off with a cloth before sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum with a powerful suction to clean carpet and hard floors, as well as an omni-rotating mop that scrubs tough stains. It also has a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and empties the mop pads to keep them clean and ready for reuse. It also comes with a sensor that can detect obstacles better and prevents it from falling on furniture or other objects.

The most significant improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). While still quite big--it's over two feet in height and depth and weighs almost four pounds--the robot and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.

This version is also more efficient than the X1 version, since it charges faster and can handle a full cleaning of around 1,500 square feet with just one charge. It also has a bigger and more robust dustbin that can store more debris. This makes it easier to empty.

The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that works even when you're not at home. It also comes with an intelligent routing feature that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a set path.

The X2 Omni is the most effective robot at mopping. Its mop pads rotating clean tough stains and its motor produces plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding too and it increases suction when it senses carpet to ensure it does a thorough job. It comes with a huge, rechargeable battery that lasts up to one week. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a premium model that offers a number of features that aren't typically found on robots in this price range. It can build precise floor maps, recognize different flooring types, and it's one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These are nice features however they can push the L10s into the class of luxury. This could mean it's more expensive than homeowners need.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is slim and tall, with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture when you are moving around your home. Sensors are hidden behind the front panel, which helps the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top, there's one button that is a switch for on and off. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it back to its base station. The center of the control panel includes a circular menu that allows you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will open up the settings menu in which you can modify the way that the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.

Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technology to map out your house. This produces a precise floor plan that allows the robot vacuum and mop effectively and avoid getting stuck in areas with clutter. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them and avoid them, which is a great feature for homes with pets or small children.

The L10s Ultra is a powerful vacuum cleaner that removes 98.4% debris from our test on hard floors and removing all but stubborn juice staining. Its mops also perform well, removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our carpet, tile, and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as effective in removing sand from the floor, or the quaker oats that are on carpet.
