Private ADHD Titration

There is a current national shortage of medication to treat ADHD symptoms. This is due to manufacturing issues and an increased global demand.

Our service can offer private ADHD titration as an alternative to waiting for NHS funding through Right to Choose. Our assessment fees include the cost of a single prescription.

Titration

A thorough assessment of your ADHD symptoms will be conducted by an experienced consultant Psychiatrist. This will include a medical history and an assessment using the standard ADHD rating scales and questionnaires.

After your examination You will be advised that medication may be beneficial for private adhd Titration your specific situation. This will be discussed during your follow-up appointment (which can be done in person, via video link or by telephone). Your doctor will go over the various options for medications available. If you decide to begin medication, we can help you the option of titrating your dose to maximize the benefits/side effects balance for you.

This process may take several weeks. It requires adjusting your child's dosage slowly until the right balance is reached. It is not uncommon to to adjust up to three different medicines until you discover the one that best fits your child's ADHD. It's important for parents to be involved in this titration process and keep a close watchful eye on their child's behavior, so that they can inform the doctor whether the medication is helping or causing adverse effects.

If you do not decide to return to NHS treatment and have decided to return to NHS care, your medication will be issued with an individual prescription that you'll need to pay for at the pharmacy (this is not included in your consultation fees). You will be required to attend six monthly appointments to monitor your medication, which includes blood pressure and pulse readings. Annual exams are also required.

Follow-up appointments

After the assessment is completed, you will be able to schedule appointment with the psychiatrist as necessary. The appointment usually takes place through a video call using zoom but in certain circumstances it might be possible to do an audio only consultation (again at an additional cost).

In this session, we'll discuss treatment options and agree upon a bespoke individualised ADHD medication titration strategy. This will include a review of your medication dose and a discussion of any possible adverse effects you may be experiencing. These titration sessions cost PS150 for face-to-face sessions, and PS60 via telephone or video consultation. The pharmacy will be charged for any medication costs.

The doctor will also ask you about your family history and the impact your ADHD symptoms can have on your life, including any relationship issues you might be having or other mental health problems that you may be suffering from. ADHD can be a hereditary condition, and it's vital to examine your family history to determine if you are at a greater chance of developing this condition.

Medication
