The tank is easy to fill and will inform you when it's empty. You can also purchase a factory-compatible cleaning concentrate to use in conjunction with this machine.

It is very good in navigating the floor and avoiding obstacles. It comes with a retractable mops that prevents carpets from getting wet. The robot is also effective in removing pet hair off different floor surfaces. It is noisy and does not perform as well as competitors in picking up dirt and other debris from bare floors.

The Roomba Combo i5 is an excellent choice for those who require a powerful machine that can handle mopping and vacuuming without any additional equipment. It is best suited to homes without carpeting, and for homes with a majority of hard flooring. However, it's not the best robot vacuum for vinyl plank floors option for homes with lots of stairs or large rooms that have a lot of carpet. It is expensive but its features and performance justify the cost.

The iRobot j5+ also does well in our mopping and vacuum stress tests, but it's not as efficient as the Ecovacs Deebot Omni in these tests, making the Combo j5+ a less versatile choice.

The $1400 list price could be a bit steep, however, it is usually on sale to make it more affordable. The unit is beautiful and the base station takes up very little space in the corner of an area.

The design of this machine addresses some problems we've encountered with other robotic mops and vacuum units, such as brushes that get tangled up in hair and the brush not being able enough to reach the flooring beneath furniture. The sweeping capabilities are impressive on carpets and bare flooring. The vacuum/mop has a high level debris pickup and the mop will quickly saturate bare flooring.

The mops also employ an advanced system for cleaning along the edges of walls and around furniture. The robot avoids most bulkier obstacles such as food bowls, toys shoes, and backpacks with any problem. It is able to get tangled or get stuck with smaller, flatter objects like shoelaces and USB cables and pens.

This robot was used to vacuum and mop hardwood flooring FLOR carpet tiles as well as pile rugs in an open-plan home. With FREO Mind enabled, it vacuumed and mopped the 90m2 area in just 170 minutes, which is close to average for Gen 4.

Miele is not a slouche in the world of robotic vacuuming and is known for its quality and innovativeness. The new Miele robot is designed to elevate the cleaning performance to a new level, thanks to its advanced features.

The RX3 has a dual-suction system smart mapping system that includes 3D mapping and cameras that send a real-time image to your smartphone. The RX3's powerful four-stage system for cleaning offers excellent dust pickup on carpet and hard floors, while its easy-to-use swing-out side brushes and dual suction channels remove dust from corners. Its 8.5 cm height lets it get under furniture with low levels. Front cameras and infrared sensor help it navigate obstacles, thresholds and obstacles with ease.

The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test of how well it cleaned baking powder near baseboards and corners. Its 2,500Pa suction was weaker than other robots, but it was still quiet and swift in its movements. It did not mop and its cleaning pad that was removable was a challenge to attach. It also couldn't handle dirt that was dried on.

Its app is a little basic and lacks features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does support Alexa however its voice controls aren't very intuitive or responsive. Also, it's a bit flaky when it comes to getting back to the charging station after a run -- other robots can trace a previous path or follow a wall around until they reach their destination, but the RX3 is a fumbler until it quits and then sends a message about failure to your phone.

We also had issues with the smart features of the device, namely its mapping feature and the digital stay-out zones. While it did a good job of keeping away from our furniture legs and shoes, it got easily stuck by cables and socks, and couldn't handle the tassels on carpets. We decided not to include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good robot vacuum price and a dazzling performance. It's worth considering as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
