I tested the IONXL in a kitchen and family room with hardwood flooring, area rugs and a standard debris test. The ION XL robot cleaner isn't as smart as the iRobot J7+, but it's an excellent option if you do not want to spend over $500 on a robotic. It's superior to the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways it is also simpler to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It's also superior at vacuuming bare flooring and removing pet fur, but isn't as effective on carpets with a low or carpets with higher pile.

It's also not as well-built as the Roborock S8, but it is still a solid alternative. The ION XL has a large bin capacity, and it can be controlled via an app and voice command, and it is easy to keep up with maintenance. It also has an affordable price.
