Inline Lever/Lever

A lever door handle is a modern handle that can be put in on doors that are new or replacement. This type of handle is available in various designs and finishes. A number of manufacturers make this handle including Avocet, ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

The uPVC/Composite door handles are made of robust materials and are perfect for doors with multi-point locks that require a heavy duty design. The handles are inline, and they use the same screws and spindle to fix them. They are easily fitted on new or existing uPVC/Composite victorian door handle.

The handle can be placed and angled to accommodate any user. The handle has been endurance tested to 200,000 cycles, this will ensure the quality of the finish as well as the performance of the handle over time. The sprung lever can also be shortened to fit the widest range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors with smaller door frames in which the cylinder is further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb on the inside.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc functions differently than lever handles on doors. These handle types are either operated by one spindle or two spindles, either inline or offset. They are typically used on UPVC doors with double glazing window handle glazing. They come in a range of finishes & variations.

The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White, Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle the best performance and durability to serve the purpose it was designed for.

All of the UPVC lever pad designs come with screws and a spindle that allow them to be fitted on an existing or new uPVC door. The backplate fixing centers of 211mm allow for a wider handle, which is often a benefit when replacing a damaged or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. These levers for changing window handles are also spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of door handles sagging from their horizontal position when they are not in use.

It is important to match the PZ dimensions of both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing the replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement is also called the 'handle centre' or 'cylinder centres' and is a critical aspect to match the appropriate handles.

When you have the right PZ size you will then need to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are a appropriate shape to accommodate the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you need for your doors. Most of the UPVC lever pads that we offer are sprung, which means that they will return to their horizontal position when they are not in use, instead of hanging out and possibly sticking in the frame. This stops draughts and cold air from entering a property. It is also the case that the majority of the UPVC handle lever pad style handles are swivel that allows you to put them on either side of the door.

Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks are found on uPVC and other types of doors. The cylinder lock operates by a key which unlocks the cylinder's casing. This exposes pins that can be aligned with the pins in the lock, allowing them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with external and internal doors usually having different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is essential. It is based on the amount of use your doors and handles receive. External doors, for instance are required to be fitted with cylinders that are more secure, whereas internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that increase security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump features.

To ensure that the euro lock handles cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder should be measured from the hole in the center of the fixing screw to the other end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however, in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to take measurements. It is essential to not have a extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.

The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. They are designed to decrease attacks by forcing cylinders to turn in a different direction. This can help deflect the attack, and ensure your door is secure.

Certain cylinders are constructed to resist snapping. This is an increasingly common method of attack on cylinders, where the break line in the lock is smashed using a special tool to break the front of the cylinder and allow the door to be opened. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than opening multipoint locks. It also leaves little evidence of a burglary, which can impede the insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is located within the base of your door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution to return the multipoint lock handles back to their rest position after using. These handles used to have no spring, and would slide when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple component is the best way to fix this problem. It also stops your door from becoming stuck in the open or closed position, as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a spring multipoint lock. These cassettes are a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes in the backplate of uPVC door handles. They have a square cut-out that allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set.
