Tools

It is crucial to have the proper tools on your side when you're out in the field. This kit was developed with that in mind. It includes all the essential hand kit tools required to repair items in the field. The tools are made from metal with minimal plastic to ensure they can withstand use. The kit includes the pouch made of canvas that is zippered to hold the coalcracker tools, a twist awl, reamer, cutting shears and gimlets (5MM). Repair Patches

If you've got a gap or two in your gear, consider adding adhesive patches to your rep kit. These heavy-duty patches feature high-performance adhesives that are applied to a tough polyurethane back that lets a tear heal under pressure. Available in clear or colored versions These patches offer durability against punctures, moisture, sunlight, saltwater and temperature extremes.

If your kit does not include any of the items above, you may want to think about adding a waterproof Aquaseal wader sealant. This water-tight glue will bond to plastics, fabric, metals and more to provide an unbreakable fix. This is great for repairing drysuits, and can be employed in the field. Allow the sealant to dry for up to 12 hours prior using the repaired equipment.

The essential field fabric repair kit for nylon tents with silicone impregnated, packs, rainwear and more. This kit includes one Clean Tape patch and a repair swatch of sil-nylon as well as a 1/4 ounce tube of Gore-Tex Sil-Fix repair adhesive and sealant as well as a brush. Apply patch to a clean, flat surface. Make sure there is a minimum of 1/2 inch overlap. Remove release paper from patch surface and rub adhesive using moderate finger pressure (adhesive side down).

Clean up the area that has been punctured, then apply the tube-scuffer, or sandpaper to roughen the surface which assists in making glue stick. Spread a thin layer of glue on the patch and cover an area at least as large as the patch itself. Allow a few minutes for the glue to become tacky before pressing the patch down and firmly holding it in the position.

This kit contains two adhesive-backed, clear Tenacious Tape fabric repair patches. It also comes with a 1/4 ounce Seam Grip urethane sealant and repair adhesive. It is ideal for kit reinforcing damaged sleeping bags, rainwear and backpacks.
