It does a great job cleaning pet hair, crumbs and dust from hard floors, but isn't as effective as the top models when it comes to cleaning up carpets of flour. In our tests the G30 Edge missed 74% of the flour on hard floors and 26% on carpet, which is disappointing.

One of the features that makes the G30 Edge stand out is its ability to map your home using a digital map in the app. This lets it remember the rooms it's cleaned, and avoid returning to these rooms. This is a major issue for the more basic robots that need the traditional magnetic taps to mark areas that are not allowed to be in.

The G30 Edge also has other conveniences. The Roomba i3+ EVO is also extremely efficient in navigating between different flooring types and doesn't get caught on transitions like older generations can. The dual multi-surface rubber brushes can adjust to different flooring and resist getting caught in pet hair.

The i3+ EVO's obstacle avoidance isn't as robust as some of the other robots we tested, and it repeatedly ran into objects in our tests, such as handbags, shoes, and pet toys before continuing its course. It also had difficulty with coarse kosher sea salt which it did a whirlwind of instead of taking it up.

The i3+ EVO includes a number of amazing features that make it worth the extra cost over other Roomba models, including self-emptying bins and advanced control through the app. You can schedule cleanings and set up custom routines. The only issue is that it could take up to 166 minutes to complete its task however, it's still faster than most other robots we've evaluated.
