iRobot was the first company to introduce self-emptying robots with its Roomba i7. It has taken this technology to a whole new level with the s9+. This flagship model is expensive, but it also has the highest performance of any robot vacuum we've tested. It also comes with upgrades that other brands can only envy.

First, it sucks up dirt into its Clean Base automatically. It then emptys the dirt into a large bag that you can throw away every 60 days. This is a great option for those who want to clean their homes without touching it, but still want peace of mind knowing their home is free of allergens and germs.

The s9+ is equipped with improved corner cleaning capabilities, allowing it to clean closer to walls and is better at cleaning up spots. The application will return to a specific area if it feels that it requires extra attention. If the area is very dirty, the s9 returns to it using a stronger suction until the entire mess is cleared away.

You can control the s9+ with the included app or using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant (the s9+ can support both), which gives you full voice commands including the ability to start or stop and pausing. You can also program a time frame for the robot to begin and end its work, or let it decide when it's time to come back to its dock.

The s9+ is great for flooring that is clean. It can easily remove small debris such as rice, and larger objects like cereal. It is also good for cleaning carpets with low piles and has a powerful suction, even if the dirt compartment is stuffed. However, it will not perform as well on thicker carpets.

2. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra

You can control the SharkClean with the SharkClean App or via voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It also has physical boundary markers that you can use to restrict its access to specific areas.

It's a basic, all-black design and feel. It requires very little assembly out-of-the-box, with just a couple of snaps to join the side brushes included and the charging dock. The dirt compartment is tiny, and you may need to empty it often.

In tests, the IQ Robot XL quickly responded to app commands and performed well during cleaning cycles. The app allows you to select power modes, change settings, and monitor the robot's current battery level. The app also features an Find Robot button that helps you locate the device if it is lost.

The IQ Robot XL, like other Shark products, has a powerful suction that can easily handle dust bunnies and dog hair. The self-cleaning brushroll keeps hair from clinging to the machine while it combs out debris. Its navigation module uses sensors that detect the surroundings as it moves, but the process isn't as extensive as those with LIDAR modules. The IQ Robot XL must run several clean cycles to determine the space you're in.

In comparison to the iRobot Roomba 690, the Shark IQ Robot XL is more durable, has lower monthly costs and offers better performance across multiple surface types. However the iRobot is built better, runs faster while offering similar battery performance. It also comes with an extensive suite of automation capabilities that allow you to customize your home's coverage map using no-go zones.

4. Eufy 11S

For instance, its small size lets it maneuver under low-profile furniture that most other vacuums aren't able to. The Smart Pathing feature is less efficient however it's enough to ensure that you don't repeat the same cleaning path repeatedly.

The model isn't as well as the iRobot Roomba S9+, however, it is better than the Coredy R550 (which is similar in price) and bObsweep Bob Pro. The iRobot has a better build and has lower recurring costs and has a bigger dirt compartment, lasts for longer on a single charge and can maneuver more effectively. It also clears pet hair more efficiently and performs better on floors that are not bare and carpet.

The Eufy 11S is priced higher than the iRobot Roomba, but also more than the Ecovacs N79S. The iRobot Roomba 614 is more costly, but it's also better built and has a longer battery life and is able to collect more dirt and dust. It is also simpler to maintain and has less regular expenses. It also comes with more automation capabilities. The companion app is also better, providing more useful information about the vacuum's current battery's status and levels.
