Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally revealed its NFT (non fungible token) Project. It's called Space Key and created in collaboration with an undisclosed artist, it is made up of an advanced carbon fiber composite material that was delivered to the International Space Station for research purposes.

Lamborghini, the Italian automobile manufacturer, is taking a first step into the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The new project - called the Space Key - is a work of art that was made in collaboration with a lone artist. The one-of-a-kind NFT is a physical item that has a link to exclusive digital artwork accessible through a QR code on the back. The project is limited and will be auctioned off within the next few weeks.

The Space Key is made of carbon composite material which Lamborghini, in the course of a research project in 2019 and sent to the International Space Station. The carbon fiber was then crafted into a unique artwork when it returned to Earth. The physical piece is inscribed with an NFT serial number which ties to the corresponding digital artwork with an QR code on the back.

NFTs, for those not familiar they are unique identifiers that are recorded on a distributed ledger of the blockchain and connected to a digital asset like a photograph video, song, or any other type of record. This allows owners to guarantee authenticity and scarcity as well as trackability of tokens via the internet.

After a series of social media posts teasing some kind of space-themed item, the Italian supercar manufacturer Lamborghini launched its non-fungible (NFT) tokens through an exclusive project called Space Key. The NFT was created in collaboration with a mysterious artist and will be auctioned within a couple of weeks. The core of the NFT is a piece that's made of the latest carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station (ISS) in 2019 as part a research project. The carbon fiber has been 3D printed to create the base of each Space Key, which is connected to an exclusive, entirely digital artwork through the QR code that is on its backside. Just five Space Keys have been produced.

NFTs are unique identifications that are recorded in distributed ledgers, such as the Blockchain, and connected to digital assets such as images. They're popular among those with more money than, so it was only an issue of time before an automaker decided to cash in on the trend.

Space Key consists of five units. They were constructed with a physical part of the carbon fiber composite, which was sent to the ISS in the year 2019. Each NFT will be linked to an exclusive digital artwork created by the same artist through an QR code that is located on the backside of the carbon fiber piece. The digital artwork

After months of posts on social media hints at it, the luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally announced its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. Each Space Key contains a block comprised of the most advanced carbon-fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station as part of a research project in 2019. After returning to Earth it was imprinted with a QR code, which connects it to the digital component of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a separate moment that occurs seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of five images was shot by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera to capture each of the individual shots, which were then combined into the final image. The result is a photo that is out of this world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic view of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned soon, but there isn't a specific date or location yet.

The auction

Each one will be auctioned individually and the winner will receive an artwork digitally created by renowned photographer Fabian Oefner, which captures the five different moments that the Space Key passed during its flight in space.
