The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This wet/dry model includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which gives enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what you'd find in self-driving cars and is able to scan up to 32 feet in 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping and faster response times and better cleaning accuracy.

It also has a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille, making it easier to scrub hard areas than traditional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to wash its pad and get to work. I also noticed that it was much more accurate than the previous models, which were able to follow a grid-like route around rooms. It was able navigate corners and edges of my rooms and also create "Zambani patterns" up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the dustbin and clean the mop with hot water prior to starting another clean-up job.

Like other Ecovacs products the X2 Omni is a breeze to set up and begin using. Place the dock in its place, plug it in and pair it with your home WiFi network. It only takes some minutes. You can then open the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes. This included creating limited areas for mopping and sweeping, reworking the placement of wall-mounted furniture, and more. The X2 Omni performed impressively during my tests, scoring outstanding scores in debris removal and pet hair cleaning, as well as near-perfect results in edge and crevice cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

Turn it upside down, however there's an electric floor rated brush and a single side sweeper brush that pushes dirt from the edges of the machine into the main path of the robot's mouth. It's a bit smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under couches and chairs.

Its mapping system allows you to set up no-mop areas and specific cleaning zones. It is prone to bumping into things, including its own charging station, and isn't the best in climbing over carpets. It was effective in getting pet hair off of the floor. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.

Although it can be controlled via the app and the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base, which allow you to choose a cleaning mode and turn the robot off and on. These buttons can be used to set up no-go areas and view real-time maps. It's a bit chatty and will inform you of what it plans to do next ("start cleaning") or even warn you that something's wrong (it isn't able to charge, for example).

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech vacuum model can remove pet hair, kibble, and other debris with great effectiveness. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble, this robot performed well and picked up everything from a single grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one pass. It had some issues with rugs, but generally speaking, this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that contain different flooring types as well as a mixture of pets.

It's not cheap however, if you are able to afford it, it's an excellent buy for those who want to be able to leave their homes completely free to perform other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto cleaning mode that automatically increases suction power to deal with tough spills and dirt and comes with a battery-powered ElectroWall which allows you to define boundaries where the robot isn't permitted to enter.

This budget-friendly robot from a renowned new brand is the most affordable we've ever tested and offers incredible value for money. Its basic navigation system uses an extremely basic random pathing algorithm, but it doesn't have room mapping capabilities, which makes it less efficient than the other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and in the corners. Its mopping mode performed well in our tests and picked up hairs that were straying and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ isn't as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at getting rid of pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles and floor surfaces that are bare. It also makes use of the smart-pathing software for better maneuverability. It can be positioned to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation features, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you to pause and resume the cleaning process and is perfect for households with pets.

Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent tangles with pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt before needing to be emptied. It comes with angled side brushes to reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, dander and allergens.
