Europe has "a lot of cards in (its) hands" when it comes to negotiations for an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron said a little while ago, during the opening remarks of a meeting with the leaders of the United Kingdom, Germany and Ukraine.

"We all support Ukraine. And we all support peace and peace negotiations to have a sustainable, robust peace," Macron said.

He said cards in Europe’s favor included the impact of European and US sanctions on Russia’s economy, which was "starting to suffer" and the "fact that Ukraine is resisting in this war."
