The Opus bass has an intense, well-rounded and punchy sound that has clarity and depth that you can't get from many budget headphones. It's not quite as full as Bose's Extra Bass headphones, but it still exceeds expectations for the $200 price tag. Mids are solid, and vocals and lead instruments are able to stand out with decent clarity. I did notice a slight veiledness in the highs however switching the EQ to Vocal resolved the issue.

In the carrying case you'll also include the 3.5mm audio cable and USB C-to-A converter and an airplane-style audio plug for those who haven't yet made the switch yet. It's a small but welcome addition that makes it easier to use the headphones while traveling.

The Opus performed admirably as did other THX certified products. I was able to walk around town without having to raise the volume to block out ambient sound and I never felt like I needed to turn the volume of my music up to hear it. This is the kind of sound that can help you avoid hearing loss over time from excessive exposure to high-frequency frequencies.
