We were impressed by the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its trash bin when it's empty, which dramatically reduces the need for hands-on maintenance. The dust bag should last for around 30 loads, or around two months, and you'll have to replace the filter every once in a while (which is actually recommended by iRobot). The iRobot S9+ is not very noisy when it operates, making it a good option for families with pets or children.

The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums has some issues with bare flooring. It is prone to miss fur and small items and tends to bump things, such as its charger on the charging platform. It's also not as quiet and the whirring sound can be distracting as with other models.

Roborock V3S Pro

The robot doesn't have as many features as some of the more expensive models we evaluated but it does come with the essentials. It has a large dust bin that can hold a lot of dirt before it needs to be emptied. The mop and vacuum system is great for both carpets and hard floors with a low pile. It is also very quiet. We were able watch TV while it cleaned without feeling like we were bombarded with the sound.

Our test subjects were extremely impressed by how simple the machine was to operate and set up. They also loved its ability to remove all the messes that had accumulated on their floors. It also did a good job of picking up pet hair and messes from carpeting, although it was less successful in removing stubborn staining. The users found the app to be user-friendly and intuitive, and they were able to schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to cut down on the amount they had to do manually. It doesn't include the ability to avoid objects or map technology, Robot mop and vacuum combo which means it cannot be able to be directed to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundaries work).

The V3S Pro did not make it into our top choices lists from trusted sources who test hands-on, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart bagless robot vacuum Reviews and The Ambient. They appreciated the ease of setup and use, but they also noted that its battery life was limited and it wasn't able to avoid some of the toughest problems we've encountered.
