The D4 is a great option for those looking for a robot vacuum with a lot of features. It comes with nifty mapping and navigation tools, smart home integration and an easy to use app.

You can set up the bot by connecting it to its base and connecting it to your home Wi Fi network. The Neato app will guide you through the initial setup (linking the D4 to Wi-Fi, naming it, etc.). Once the D4 is fully charged it's time to start a cleaning cycle.

Once you've got your D4 operating, you can make use of the app to create an automatic schedule or manually start cleaning whenever you want. You can also utilize your voice to control it using Google Home or Amazon Alexa. And if you have an Apple Watch, you can even start a cleaning session by simply tapping the wrist.

In our tests the model performed well on carpeted and hard flooring and picked up 91.3 percent of debris in serpentine pathways. It's not as effective at cleaning edges and corners as higher-end models. The side sensors of the D4 keep it about 1.5 inches away from walls. It also doesn't have the side-sweeping brushes that are found on all but the cheapest robotic cleaners. The turret's elevated design means that it can't be used under furniture with low clearance. 3. iRobot Roomba 985

iRobot Roomba is designed to make your floors more beautiful, cleaner and more powerful thanks to its powerful cleaning system, its smart navigation and a smart integration with other iRobot devices. Its unique dirt detection system alerts you when areas require extra attention. Smart sensors keep it clear of dangerous obstacles and stairs. It will also automatically recharge and continue cleaning until the task is done. Its intelligent mapping and vSLAM technology lets it navigate an entire level of your home, keeping an eye on the areas it's been to and what rooms it's yet to clean.

Its low-profile design allows it to go under carpets, furniture, and other items, where pet hair and dust are often hidden. It can also clean dirt from corners and edges, unlike many robot vacuums. It's also simple to plan cleaning sessions from any location with the iRobot app or your voice with Alexa and Google Assistant.

It's also iRobot's most powerful vacuum, capable of grabbing the dirtiest messes and larger pet hair, unlike other mid-range models like the Roomba 960. This is because of the cleaner's bigger counter-rotating brushes and a stronger motor that can pull more suction power.

The Roomba 995 is also iRobot's least expensive vacuum with recharge and resume, however it's not equipped with the auto-empty system that the I6+ and I7 offer. It also doesn't have iAdapt 2.0 navigation, as well as the camera that the I7 uses to track objects and avoid obstacles. It isn't able to access features such as in-app containment or save maps.
