After a series of social media posts suggesting it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally revealed its NFT (non fungible token) Project. Dubbed Space Key and developed in collaboration with an undisclosed artist It is based on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The new project, dubbed the Space Key - is a piece of art made by a collaboration with an unidentified artist. The NFT is a unique piece of digital art that can be accessed through an QR code. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned in the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made from carbon fiber composite material that Lamborghini smuggled to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of an experiment. Once it returned to earth the carbon fiber was crafted into this unique artwork. The physical piece has an NFT serial number that is linked to the digital image via QR code on the rear.

NFTs for those not familiar, are unique identifiers that are stored on a distributed ledger of the blockchain and linked to a digital asset like a photograph video, song, or other record. This allows owners to ensure the authenticity, scarcity, and the traceability of their tokens on the internet.

The physical component of the Space Key

Its core is made of the most advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part a research project. The carbon fiber has been 3D printed to form the base of each Space Key, which is connected to an exclusive, purely digital artwork through an QR code on the back of the key. Only five Space Keys were produced.

It's dubbed the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock an exclusive digital artwork created by a yet-to-be-identified artist. The collectors' piece was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to five units. It will be auctioned off soon.

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station as part of a research project in 2019. After returning to Earth the block was engraved using a QR codes that connect to the digital component in the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that occurs only seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of the five images was taken by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner used a balloon with a camera to take each of the individual shots which were then merged into the final image. The result is a truly out of this world photo that captures the beauty of Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic picture of the car key Lamborghini rising away from it. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and time of the event hasn't been confirmed yet.

The auction
