Then, it will continue to use the information to avoid obstacles. In our testing, it avoided getting stuck on power cords, long curtains and even dog toys. It isn't perfect though and occasionally ran into things such as tangled wires or the odd book or toy.

The S7 Max Ultra can be operated via its smartphone app. This is where you will discover all the advanced features that distinguish it from other robot vacuums and mops. There are also room-specific mopping and cleaning options, a schedule planner and power strength selections for mopping and vacuuming. The S7 Max Ultra's ability to vacuum is impressive and it did a great job of picking up dirt, pet hair, and other particles on carpet and hard flooring. Its automatic dust bin-emptying feature performed perfectly during our tests, which was very reassuring. It also boasts a 5100 Pa HyperForce suction rating, which is considerably better than the 2,500Pa power of the S6 MaxV and S7.

The S7 Max Ultra's mopping capabilities was also good, though not the most efficient we've seen. Another drawback is that the Combo J7+'s dust container is tiny, and you have to empty it manually. The Combo mop pads are also less effective than other brands. This is a pity as this robot is otherwise a great machine.
