After a series of social media posts that hint at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Dubbed Space Key and created in collaboration with an unidentified artist the project is inspired by a piece advanced carbon fiber composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The new project, dubbed the Space Key - is a piece of art that was created in collaboration with an unidentified artist. The unique NFT is a tangible item that links to exclusive digital artwork that can be accessed via a QR code on the back. The project is limited to five pieces and will be auctioned off in the coming weeks.

The Space Key is made of carbon composite material that Lamborghini, as part a research project in the year 2019 and sent to the International Space Station. Once it returned to earth the carbon fiber was then sculpted into this distinctive artwork. The physical element is imprinted with an NFT serial number that is linked to the digital artwork using a QR code on the back.

For those not in the know, NFTs are unique identifiers that are recorded on a distributed blockchain ledger and tied to digital assets such as a photograph, video or other type of record. This enables owners to guarantee the authenticity, scarcity and trackability of their tokens over the internet.

Lamborghini takes this unique approach to art a step further by collaborating with NFT PRO - an all-white label NFT solution for businesses. In the coming weeks Lamborghini Key will release details about this exciting project including the name of the unidentified artist as well as a timeline for the auction.

The digital artwork

After weeks of social-media posts hinting at it, the luxury automobile maker Lamborghini finally revealed its first venture for tokens that are non-fungible (NFT). Called the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital artwork created by an artist yet to be identified. Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm) the "collector's work" is limited to just five units and will be auctioned off shortly.

Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was sent to the International Space Station as part of a research project in 2019. After returning to Earth the block was engraved with QR codes that link to the digital component in the Space key lamborghini aventador.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that occurs only seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Each of five images was shot by photographer Fabian Oefner and contains over 600 million pixels.

Oefner utilized a balloon with a camera to take each of the individual shots which were then merged into the final image. The result is a photograph that is out of this world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic view of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off soon, but the exact date and time of the event hasn't been announced yet.

The auction

With the slogan "to the moon', luxury automobile maker Lamborghini has entered the realm of non-fungible tokens (NFT) with a mesmerizing project in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm).
