Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Bentley's custom coachbuilding division, Mulliner, has designed a unique key case to commemorate the brand's centennial. Made of Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it comes with a flying 'B' paperweight, a set of keys as well as a brochure with never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

Aesthetics

Design

Bentley is a premium car manufacturer that produces lavish and extravagant cars. However, even the bently keys are a statement. The Bentayga Key is made of sterling silver, and has an enormous B' logo to inform everyone that you drive a Bentley. It also has the years 1919 and 2019, to commemorate the company's centenary.

Bentley Mulliner reinvented and designed the Mulsanne to be the ultimate Grand Touring vehicle. The rear seats are designed to provide passengers with the most comfortable and private experience. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. A customized heating, air conditioning, and ventilation system was designed to ensure that every passenger has the ideal temperature control.

In addition to a set of stylishly executed styling changes, the Mulsanne is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine capable of producing 560bhp and 479lbft of torque. This amazing power is coupled by a new suspension system which provides Bentley's renowned quiet ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, bentley Continental key introduced a unique specification called the Centenary Specification for cars built in 2019. This includes contrast stitching and cross-stitching in Centenary Gold thread throughout the cabin. The Bentley Wings are embroidered with Centenary Gold on the headrests as well as the seats and other parts of the car. This adds to the celebration. Function

Secure-A-Key is also included to help prevent keyless entry theft. This device is put inside the remote-control key fob. It will shut it off after a few minutes of inactivity. This prevents thieves from transmitting the key's frequency to other devices that could unlock and start the vehicle.

Personalisation

Bentley's bespoke division, Mulliner, allows customers to essentially design their own car. The "mood station" allows guests to select images that inspire them. These can be anything from scenic vistas and sporting events. Each time a selection is made, a pattern appears that reveals the model and color preferences of the custom Bentley.

The guests are given a key case made by hand that houses the R.F.I.D. enabled key cards. The keys can be equipped with Bentley Muliner Personalised welcome lamps that illuminate the pathway of the entrance door, and display the owner's name or logo as they approach the vehicle.

Bentley says it takes roughly 500 man-hours to design and put together the typical Mulsanne. A key to that time-consuming effort is a reluctance to embrace modern tech. The Crewe factory workers do not make use of a machine to create perfectly-matched cross stitched leather seats. Instead they do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors guide it to perpendicular and parallel parking spots the drivers must do it manually.

Bentley displayed its Mulliner personalization capabilities in a special Mulsanne W.O. Edition, that pays tribute to founder William Osler Bentley.
