The Eufy 11S is one of the most affordable self-emptying robot vacuums available. It ably sucked up dry oatmeal from hard floors and low-pile carpeting in our tests. Its dustbin is easy to empty and open -- easier than those of some other models in the same price range.

It recharges at its base and resumes cleaning when it's fully charged. However, its obstacle-avoidance technology is caught in cords and socks, and it's not able to go below low thresholds.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is among the cheaper bagless self emptying robot vacuum-emptying robots available and a lot of people seem to love it. It's also capable of scheduling and executing spot-cleaning sessions. It performed well in our standard tests, but it wasn't able to exactly match the Roomba j7+ in the carpet deep clean test.

You can program the S7 with the companion app to run a cleaning cycle in accordance with your schedule. Shark isn't as well-known for robot vacuums as iRobot and Roborock However, our tests on this model has shown it to be among the top self-emptying robot vacuums available on the market. It is easy to set up and has an enormous bin that can be easily emptied (albeit loudly) into a trashcan once full. It can also be programmed to sweep the entire house on a set schedule.

The IQ XL can connect to your home WiFi that allows you to monitor it through the Shark app and see its battery level as it cleans. The app lets you program a cleaning schedule, receive notifications by push regarding its status as well as it can pause and resume cleaning or set it to a single room. You can also control it with voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app can tell you the power mode it's currently in--Eco, Normal or Max. We didn't discover that any of the modes made a huge difference to the cleaning performance.

The Shark IQ XL is a great vacuum cleaner. It does a good job of cleaning bare floors and can maneuver itself well. However it's not the best choice for carpeted floors. Shark IQ XL feels a slightly less sturdy than the Roomba 694. It clears a lot of debris on unfinished floors and does a decent job of maneuvering itself however it isn't close to matching the iRobot Roomba i7 in regards to performance on carpeted surfaces. The i7 is also more robust and feels more durable and robust, has less demanding maintenance requirements, has lower recurring costs, charges faster, while offering similar battery performance and much more advanced automation features like no-go zones and the capability to select specific rooms for a clean.

iRobot J7+

This robot vac/mop combination is a rare find, because it can do both tasks very well. iRobot Combo j7+ has all the features and smarts of its j7 equivalent, including LiDAR map and self-emptying. However, it also has additional features for mopping and vacuuming.

We did notice some minor issues with the j7+, mainly that it could snag rugs and cords and that it doesn't always switch off its mopping once it's done vacuuming. This is a great model that checks all the boxes.

iRobot J7+ is one of the top auto-emptying systems that we've ever tried. It puts its 14oz 0.4-liter dust container into the base station where it will automatically empty itself for you to. This will reduce the amount of garbage you have to dispose of. You'll only need to change the dust disposal bag at the dock once every 60 days, depending on how frequently you use the J7+.
