Then, it will continue to use that data to avoid obstacles. In our tests, it avoided getting stuck on power cords, long curtains and even dog toys. It's not perfect but it occasionally encountered obstacles such as tangled wires or some odd book or toy.

The S7 Max Ultra can be controlled by its smartphone app. This is where you will find all of the advanced features that set it apart from other robot vacuums and mop machines. This includes room-specific cleaning and mopping settings, a scheduling planner mopping and vacuuming strength selections, and integrations with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for smart home integration. The wide range of features means the S7 Max Ultra can do almost anything a standard robot vacuum can do, but at a less than half the price.

The S7 Max Ultra vacuuming is remarkable. It did a great job at removing pet fur, dirt and other debris, both on carpet and hard floors. The automatic dustbin emptying feature was flawless during our tests. This was very comforting. It also boasts a 5100 Pa HyperForce suction rating, which is substantially superior to the 2,500Pa suction power of the S6 MaxV and S7.

The S7 Max Ultra's mopping capability was excellent, but not the most efficient we've seen. It used a microfiber mop which can absorb liquids, and sonic vibration technology to scrub floors as high as 3,000 revolutions per minutes. This was slightly faster than the X1 Omni circular pads which spin at 180 rotations per minute. The S7 Max Ultra's ReactiveAI 2.0 obstruction recognition system is excellent. In our tests, it didn't get stuck on anything and stayed clear of power cords, curtains and other obstacles all the time.

2. Narwal Freo

It's an activity that is hated by many, yet it is essential to keep your home spotless. It's a messy, often stinky job that can be difficult to finish, since it requires dustbins, dirty water and the necessity to ensure that debris or hair does not clog traps or brushes. Robots that vacuum and mop have become extremely popular. However, a lot of these products still require you to manually empty the dust bin, wash and wash the mop pads. This can be a hassle especially if it's necessary to do this several times during or after cleaning sessions. We're glad to learn that a variety of manufacturers are introducing self-emptying robots that make the whole process much more hassle-free.

This is in addition to the smartphone app. This is the first time for a robot vacuum and mop combo and is certainly a welcome alternative if you'd prefer to avoid the hassle of using the app. You can even alter the route during the session using the LCD screen controls.

The Narwal Freo is also quiet when it is in suction mode, with a noise level of only 63dB. The Freo's maintenance process is not entirely hands-free, however. You'll need to clean the main brush roll as well as the side brushes regularly.

It can map your home and clean areas without damaging furniture or walls. The app lets you create zones to mark areas that require to be cleaned and those that you don't want to clean. You can also set zones for no-mop or no-sweep zones.

iRobot’s iAdapt technology 2.0 is a major component of what makes Combo j7and smart. The only downside I found was that the Combo j7+'s tiny water tank means that you need to refill it frequently or limit the cleaning to smaller areas and run it in eco-mode more often.

The Combo J7+ comes with an extremely small dust bin that you have to empty manually. I also discovered that the Combo J7+'s mop pads to be less effective than those of other brands, which is a shame as it's a great combination robot.
