It also comes with Virtual Wall which creates a barrier that the Roomba won't cross.

The 960 did well in our tests, particularly on bare floors. It sucked up lots of cat litter, food crumbs and tracked dirt. It's also adept in climbing over obstacles like stair runners and the legs of tables and chairs. It also was able to suck up pet fur though it struggled with finer debris, such as baking soda.

The 960 differs from other Roomba models in that it has a separate trash bin to store large amounts of debris. This reduces the necessity for regular maintenance. You can empty it with the touch of a button, using the iRobot HOME app, or using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant voice commands.

The iRobot HOME App allows you to personalize each cleaning cycle. You can set the number passes and choose between different modes like edge clean, self emptying Robot vacuum pet hair or a full room sweep. It can also send an alert when it's time to empty the dirt container.

The 960 is simple to operate, with buttons on the top and controls within the iRobot HOME app as well as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
