The Eufy 11S robotic vacuum is one of the most affordable self-emptying vacuums on the market. It ably sucked up dry Oats from hard floors as well as carpets with a low pile during our tests. Its dustbin is easy to empty and openmuch easier than some other models in the same price range.

It also does a decent job on medium and low-pile carpet. Similar to the Roomba by iRobot Roomba it also has a very large dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It has an easy-to-use remote control, and it is possible to organize daily cleanings with the app. Its battery lasts about an hour, and the dustbin can be cleaned without taking it from the dock.

2. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a fantastic robot that comes with a a surprising array of features for automation. It comes in three options including the standard S7, the S7 MaxV Plus and the S7 MaxV Ultra. Only the latter comes with an Empty Wash Fill Dock (or an alternative Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its base after cleaning and empty the debris into a dust collection bag or reservoir, empty the dirty water tank and clean its mopping pad.

Sensors on the S7 work in tandem to clean and avoid obstacles. It can recognize the types of floors and save a map of rooms and zones. It can even determine dirt levels. It's also capable of scheduling and running spot-cleaning sessions. It performed well in our standard tests, though it couldn't quite match the iRobot Roomba j7+ in the carpet deep clean test.

You can program the S7 using the companion app to run a cleaning routine in accordance with your schedule. You can specify a time either day or week, as well as select from a variety of cleaning options, such as eco, automatic and deep clean. You can also choose whether the robot vacuum self emptying will stop when its power is exhausted or when it comes across an obstruction.

You can still use the S7 even if you don't have an Android phone by connecting a charging dock to the remote control. 3. Shark IQ Large

Shark isn't as well-known for robot vacuums as iRobot and Roborock however our experience with this model has proven it to be among the top self-emptying robot vacuums currently on the market. It's easy to set up and comes with a large bin that is able to be easily empty (albeit loudly) to a trashcan when full. It can also be programmed to sweep the entire home on a regular basis.

The IQ XL is able to connect to your WiFi at home, allowing you to monitor its progress in cleaning using the Shark app. The app allows you to set up a cleaning routine, receive push notifications regarding its condition, pause cleaning and restart cleaning, or set it for one specific area. It can also be controlled using voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app can tell you what power mode it's currently in--Eco, Normal, or Max--but we didn't find that any of these modes had a significant impact to cleaning performance.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the trash bin at the end of each cleaning cycle into the base, and then automatically empty itself. Its bin can hold up 60 days' worth of debris and won't require emptying more often than that, unless you own several pets with long hair. If you have to empty it, all you have to do is remove the side bin, put it up to a trash can, and press a button that will let you eject its contents.

There isn't much to dislike about the Shark IQ XL, although it is a little less well-built than the Roomba 694. It is able to remove lots of dirt from unfinished floors and does a good job of moving itself around however it's not as close to achieving the same performance as the iRobot Roomba i7 in regards to performance on carpeted surfaces. The i7 is also more robust, feels more durable and robust, has less demanding maintenance requirements, is able to charge lower costs for recurring expenses, is faster to charge, and offers comparable battery performance and much more advanced automation features, such as no-go zones as well as the ability to pick certain rooms to be cleaned.

4. iRobot J7+

You can easily set up a cleaning schedule and change the way that dust is cleaned when the canister is full. The j7+ is also able to be controlled by voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.).) The app lets you create and view maps within your home.

In our tests, the j7+ performed well on both hard and carpeted floors, and it cleaned up most of the dirt we tossed at it. It has a difficult time dealing with pet hair, large debris and sand. But it can clean them with a little more effort. It also has decent navigation capabilities and a set of cliff sensors to prevent it from plunging down the stairs or stumbling on furniture legs.

The J7+ has some small flaws, namely that it can get caught on cords or rugs and doesn't always switch off the mopping function once it's done vacuuming. This is a great model that ticks all the boxes.

iRobot j7+ has also one of the top auto-emptying systems we've ever examined. It dumps its 14oz/0.4-liter dust canister into the base station, where it automatically empties for you. This helps reduce the amount of trash you'll need to dispose of and you'll only have to replace the reusable dust bag from the dock about every 60 days or so, depending on how often you use the j7+.
