Then, locate the battery's hole, and then open it with an open-ended flathead, coin, or any other similar tool. Then, repairing carefully remove the battery from its socket by lifting it on the side that is closest to the key-ring loop. Wear rubber gloves to shield the electronic contact surfaces.

Place the new battery into the socket after the previous one was removed. Make sure that the positive side is facing up and that it is seated in all the clips. Then slide the cover back downwards and towards the key-ring loop section until it becomes loose and falls off. Then, take off the cover to reveal the mechanical key blade inside.
