It also does a good job of cleaning dirt from carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ has a tiny footprint and has a self-emptying feature. However, if you want to change the floor levels on the map, or set no-go zones, you'll need to manually reset it in order to do this, which is a bit of trouble.

The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated features, but it does not have no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its intelligent-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, but it is prone to get caught up on rug tassels, and its iHome speaker lets you control the robot using voice commands.

In our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair effectively, clearing huge amounts of hair from floors that were not bare and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was a little less effective on shag carpet, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It did a decent job of maneuvering the legs of chairs, tight spaces, and the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. It was a bit slower on flooring that was not fully covered but it was able to recover speed and did better than other robots we evaluated.

The IQ is a better option for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dust bin and lasts longer on a charge, and is capable of moving itself around obstacles. It has mopping tools that are able to remove sticky debris. The iRobot is, however, feels better constructed and has less components that need maintenance or replacement and incurs fewer recurring costs, can create virtual no go zones using its companion app. It is able to even resume cleaning from where it left off in case it is unable to recharge its battery prior to it has completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice, which can be an advantage for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn't among the most advanced models, but it provides great cleaning power at affordable prices. It is then possible to manually guide the device around it to restart it.
